Everything was exceptional

Lovely place, clean, comfortable beds. Could have done with a few more kitchen utensils for breakfast, drinks etc..

The towels, bedding and floors were clean and fresh. The bathroom was mostly clean. When on, the heating worked well. Access into the property was easy. Plentiful toilet roll and hand wash provided. Good quality wifi and comfortable seating.

We arrived at our agreed time (7-8pm in December) to find windows open behind closed blinds, the heating completely off and the very dirty controller not set up at all (no instructions provided but we have a similar model). It was 14°C and took quite a while to warm up most of the house although the bathroom was chilly throughout our stay due to the towel rail only achieving luke warm at best. The smallest (double) bedroom radiator was not adjustable so we had to be too hot in order for the kids to be warm enough. Although there are beds for 6 and we booked as a family of 6 there were only 4 chairs at the dining table and 3 sets of plates laid out. There weren't sufficient mugs, plates, bowls or cutlery and the mugs and glasses in particular had not been cleaned properly prior to our visit. The double sink only had one plug and didn't look like it had been cleaned beforehand. Washing up liquid and a scouring pad were provided but no surface cleaner, clothes or wipes or drying up clothes provided. An active air freshening unit meant the "fresh" smell was intrusive. There is no garden view, there is a dirty courtyard with rubbish dumped in it. Bathroom mats would help with the very chilly floor and the location of the bathroom should be included in the description - down steep stairs and through the kitchen. The very steep staircase should be clearly mentioned in the property description and ideally some form of night light available for safety.

Cleanand warm. Comfortable beds, good shower with plenty of hot water, smart TV.

Small bath towels. No bath mat or tea towel. Lack of crockery, no wine glasses or corkscrew. Smells very strongly of damp in entrance area.

Spacious rooms and very comfortable cosy beds.

The furnishings look very nice!

The carpet in the living room was covered in bits and didn't look like it had been hoovered since the last occupants, there was even a hair bobble on the floor. The sofa only seats 2 people comfortably! The bathroom sink had pink soap scum around the plughole and the pipe at the back of the sink was dripping onto the floor. The beds were uncomfortable and we didn't even use the double bed because we would have had to climb in from the bottom of the bed because it is tight to the walls at either side! The backyard had a dishwasher and other rubbish scattered about. We didn't complain because we were only there overnight.

The house was cleanly presented and had all that was required for our stay. The hosts were friendly and communication was good. The location was central to our purpose for the stay and was in decent condition.

The stairs are pretty steep and the only bathroom was on the ground floor. This is normal for these types of houses though so nothing that the host could do about this, just to let others who it may be an issue for know.

A newly refurbished house that was clean, comfortable and in a convenient location. Exceptionally good value for the price. It was nice to be met personally by our host, which is unusual these days!
