The house itself is beautiful, but our experience was very disappointing and uncomfortable. During our stay, a large, antique wall clock that was not secured to the wall fell while our children were playing nearby. Overall, this stay was stressful and not family-friendly, despite the house being beautiful. Families with you could have ended very badly. We informed the owners, explained what happened, and said that my husband would fix the doors. The glass wasn’t broken. Later that day, while we were not at the house, the owners asked for permission to enter in order to close the shutters because of the rain. We agreed. However, instead of simply closing the shutters, we received a message afterwards criticizing us for “leaving the house in a mess” and demanding €100 for the clock, claiming it was an antique. We were honestly shocked and offended by this response. Entering the house while we were away and then commenting on “mess” is completely inappropriate. More importantly, if that unstable clock had fallen on a child, we would have taken legal action — the responsibility was clearly theirs. They insisted that we must pay because “it never fell before” and therefore it was our fault. This left us feeling very uncomfortable. The second unpleasant experience was during checkout. Although I sent a message in the morning saying we would leave between 11:00 and 11:30, the host insisted it must be exactly at 11:00 and literally stood over us while we packed, repeating “check-out is at 11.” We’ve traveled a lot and have never experienced this kind of pressure before. In addition, the entire house is full of fragile antiques and items that feel like they still belong to the owners — “look but don’t touch.” It’s clearly their personal home, not a space designed or adapted for families with young children. Overall, this stay was stressful and not family-friendly, despite the house being beautiful. Families with young kids should be aware of these issues before booking.

The views were beautiful! It's a very comfortable house with lots of room. Everything was great! Our house was very willing to help us with anything we needed.

It is up some stairs but that is part of being on an island in Greece.

The property was immaculately clean. Host was available. It felt like stepping into someone’s welcoming home. Fully equiped kitchen, old world decor throughout, lovely balconies to relax and enjoy the view. The 40 steps to get there was worth the effort. Highly recommended.

Nothing to speak of. Bottled or boiled water needed on Hydra. No used paper in sisterns. Very steep terrain. Lots of stairs. Not suitable for those with mobility issues.

Fantastic location, fantastic house and a fantastic host. Highly recommend!

The space was endless and the views amazing.

The steps were very steep to the house. You have to be fit and able to get here but it’s worth it.
