Little Gem Lodge with Hot Tub

Very spacious modern features. Beds were very comfy

Blinds didn't block out light, shower had mould in them, was also very cold unless heating high. I think the deposit for the hot tub is ridiculously expensive and the money is not returned quickly.

Collecting the keys was super easy finding the property in the dark was not...could have done with a illuminated sign. The Chinese restaurant up the road was lovely, although we got takeaway. Cannot comment on the hot tub as we couldn't use it as the weather was awful but it was checked by an attendant.

I expected to have tea, coffee and sugar supplied as standard for a two night stay. There were only tea bags. If I had have known this I would have brought my own with me rather than have to go back into the village to the shop to buy these. The mattresses could do with upgrading as at points we could feel the springs.

The lodge was lovely and spacious, but the hot tub was the best feature. The location is very quiet and peaceful.

I noticed there were a few things not working when we arrived, which is unacceptable. This costs a lot of money, and wanted to make sure these faults were reported. Everything is supposed to be in working order before the next customer stays, as this could potentially cause the customer's security bond being taken. The items that were not working included: the fire, outside light on the terrace, one lamp in the master bedroom, walk-in wardrobe light in the small bedroom, both showers kept running cold - the worst one being in the bathroom, and there was a restriction on the thermostat to stop the heating being turned up above 23 degrees. This is a disgrace, as customers should be able to have the temperature to however high they choose. It was colder at night, and there was no fire working either. There are heaters available to use though. The staff on-site were very friendly and helpful, and contacted the owner to remove the code from the thermostat remotely, and adjust the pressure in the boiler for the hot water. Unfortunately, the showers only improved temporarily, only to run cold again, and on our last night the restriction on the thermostat had been applied again, so the temperature would not go any higher than 23 degrees. This is totally unacceptable. The owner stopped the workman fixing any of the faults, but he did manage to change the light bulb on the terrace outside. The owner was aware the fire was not working, and said he would get this fixed the following week. He didn't want the boiler being adjusted initially, but I had to phone the office again to report the showers running cold, which makes this a priority. We were really disappointed by the owner's attitude, and he definitely should not be taking money from customers if the facilities are not working properly, and he is stopping the staff from fixing them.

Good location all clean and tidy

I think the only thing I would add is I think there should be more door hooks coats and clothing like dressing gown etc and there could do with an extra light outside where the hot tub is as it seemed quite dark but overall a lovely lodge

Lodge was beautifully clean and welcoming. Had everything you need for cooking including a dishwasher (one tablet included with our stay - worth noting so you can take your own if staying for a few days). Plenty of radiators in living area so warmed up quickly. The place is a great base for exploring. You have Eden camp, flamingo land and castle Howard to name a few. Hot tub was great. Throughly enjoyed our stay and we will return. Also happy to say our security deposit was returned within a couple of days of leaving, as I read other reviews saying it took ages, not for us 😊

Only a couple of small niggles that would not stope me from returning but worth mentioning. The water in main bathroom did not get hot, only warm. The mattress in main bedroom wasn’t the best - it rolled us both into the middle

Property was very spacious and clean. Great location for local attractions and not too far from the coast. Hot Tub was perfect.

This lovely lodge is set on a quiet and well kept site. It's a really relaxing place to base yourself for the amazing places that surround you in the area. Lovely open plan living/ dining area. Comfy beds. Much more space in bedrooms and bathrooms than I expected. We were away with our 90 year old mother with limited mobility who loved the layout. We had a few issues that were reported and the response/communication from the management team was very speedy.
