I believe that despite good communication and saying all of the right things the team running this apartment are not to be trusted. I really dislike writing a bad review, but for this apartment, and my experience, I have no choice. We booked the apartment the night before and communicated with the team at that time that if they were able to enable early access to apartment that would be great. I got a very swift reply to confirm that if cleaning was completed early then they would let me know. I didn’t get any further communication, so arrive at 3pm as per check in time. The apartment had not been cleaned. At this stage we are on WhatApp with the team. The team responded quickly and requested that I created a video to prove that it had not been cleaned before they contacted the cleaning company. After a few messages I was informed that the cleaner would be at the apartment at the latest 6pm. Adding on the cleaning time, that would be around 8pm before we could check in properly, take a shower etc.. I decided to call Booking to ask for my options. They eventually called the team running the apartment and it was them who volunteered to waiver the non refund policy if I chose to cancel the booking. The booking representative confirmed that I would receive a full refund within 10 to 12 days. I proceeded with the cancellation (the Booking rep carried this out for us). We trusted them to honour their verbal agreement with booking. The team running the apartment has subsequently refused on 2 occasions to honour this verbal agreement that they made with Booking and I have not received my refund. In addition to this - the advert does say there is a balcony - there is not.

A beautiful building that's safe and in a good location. New appartment.

A noisy ground-floor apartment without enough light and without a balcony, which was advertised on Booking.com as if it had one. There's little space around the toilet in the bathroom.

Everything was great, apartment is very nice, clean and cosy, location is very good, especially if you come to Trieste by bus. I would recommend it to everybody.
