Casa Arditi - Lecce Selection

The location was perfect, approximately a 15/20 minute walk into the town. We had various questions for Simone, the Manager, which she always answered promptly and was extremely helpful.

Beautiful 3rd floor , 2 bed apartment with so much space . The bigger bedroom had a large balcony with plenty of seats.It was like a house. Very large living room with balcony with chairs and table , large very well equipped kitchen , separate utility room with washing machine etc. We had our teenage son with us who loves his fitness And there was an athletic track close by. Close to all restaurants, shops were 5 mins away. We would highly recommend this apartment. We also requested a second set of keys, and we received them very promptly.

Once we did get into the flat communications (through WhatsApp) were much easier. There were some issues, mainly regarding AC, which they claim didn’t exist, but did. Bottom line, the flat is a good one. The company that manages it needs a bit of work on customer relations particularly short term rentals . In the end, they were very kind and got us a taxi to take us to the train station.

Of the hundreds of places we have stayed at, over decades, the Lecce Selection was the worst at communication (before we got to the apartment). They would not answer emails (both through Booking.com and regular email). They would not answer texts. I finally called and asked if they spoke English (in Italian) and they said ‘no’. So, I asked in my poor Italian, a question that we had been trying to get answered. Did they have a washing machine. (There had been a recent review saying there was not washing machine, which is incorrect – when there ,you have to know to look outside in the space off the middle deck.) They said ‘no’. Then in English they asked me what property I was asking about because they had so many. That was it until we entered the apartment. Which was as described (without a toaster). So, for 5 months we waited and hoped that we were not being scammed. We were so worried that we found several other places that we could book, at the last minute.

Beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean large apartment. Light and airy with multiple balconies. Easy check in and check out All amenities provided. Dishwasher, washing machine and all kitchen appliances. There was even an umbrella in cupboard with ironing board and iron so I do think the hosts have really considered the needs of guests. It was great to have so much space as had stayed in hotels for earlier part of our trip.

The apartment is spacious, clean, and well-equipped. The location is very good – a 15-minute walk from the city center, in a quiet area. There are shops, restaurants, and cafes nearby. Communication with the owners was good. There is no washing machine or laundry area, which could be an inconvenience for a longer stay.
