Staff friendly and kind, the room was clean and minimal but functional

Overall our stay was AWFUL, because of the constant noise. There is absolutely no insulation, windows open or closed, didn't make any difference. The hotel is located on a very busy street, loud cars and motorcycles constantly day and night (bonus by night, there are racing ?? sports cars, loud music, guys yelling and laughing at 3am... Fast & Plymouth under your window, every night) also seagulls are roosting on the roof (well, everywhere really) and these guys are LOUD and MANY, and they scream all night long. Yes we had earplugs, no it was not nearly enough. I nearly forgot to mention the alarms. The huge building just in front of the hotel is disaffected, and under alarm. One night that alarm went off and was ringing ALL NIGHT from around 9pm to 7:38am the next morning. Also each night, you will have an average 1-3 car alarms going off, usually for 10min, enough to wake you up if you were so lucky to fall asleep in this soundscape. And of course you live and sleep with every sound of your neighbors, if they watch TV, even reasonably low, or even have a normal conversation, you hear every word. No insulation at all (wouldn't try this place in winter....) The neighborhood does not feel safe (probably because that huge disaffected area, and old guys hanging around by night) but nothing happened to us, so just a general feeling. The bed mattress is really meh, not very comfortable but at this point that was not even a problem anymore. All of this is not the hotel staff fault, and they were really friendly and helping, so I feel bad writing this review, but the building is in dire need of renovation. Really I wouldn't come back there or recommend it ever to anyone :/

Location

Very noisy road outside and some extremely questionable characters hanging around the building. Rooms are very basic but not to expensive so you get what you pay for. Also be mindful if it’s warm as the rooms get very hot with no AC.

Comfortable bed. Loved the views from the 8th floor

It was cheap and delivered as expected. It was easy to find with secure parking. The accommodation was simple but clean and the location was fantastic. Easy walk to the barbican, walked to Royal Williams Yard, the Hoe and up to Drakes Circus. Will go again!

Comfier bed

Room 804. Large room but no sound proofing from street noise and the next room had their TV on till 4.30am on both nights which you could hear through the walls. Basic, budget room in city centre which was suitable for our stay.
