"Comfortable, but lots of small issues that added up"

6.0

The location was beautiful, staff were friendly and the bed was comfortable with a nice bath and shower.

The most frustrating thing was that there was some extensive work being done in the building that we were not warned about. Workmen were loud and also blocked off the stairs to our room for some time, along with strong paint smells around the building. This would’ve been fine had we had some warning. Food was decent but breakfast was a little overpriced for just an average buffet. Decor in the room was very scuffed with damaged tiles in the bathroom. Had to wait quite a while at both dinner and breakfast for staff to seat us as there was no one around. This was a shame as we’d stayed here last year and had a lovely time, this year seemed like things had gone down hill. Tried to book for next year (for another stay after Download festival) and the prices have gone up - definitely not worth paying more for unfortunately.

"Beautiful location and great staff but for the price is expensive for what you're getting room wise"

7.0

The location is absolutely beautiful and the staff are fantastic

It was incredibly expensive for what we got. I'm unsure if that's the norm for a stay or if the prices were raised due to Download festival but we booked and paid for a separate cottage and ended up in a basic room which we were told was no price difference.

"Amazing 2nd stay at the Priest House Hotel"

10.0

This was our 2nd stay at the Priest House Hotel. The location is tranquil and stunning, right on the River Trent. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but the grounds and the accommodation is very well maintained by the hotel staff. Hotel Staff- excellent, from reception desk through to the bar and restaurant Staff - everyone has been very friendly, welcoming and polite. Loved the fact that the lunch menu was extended to include hot food - this now includes fish and chips, roasted pork belly, Chicken Caesar salad and beef steak sandwich all of which were heavenly! We also booked in for Sunday roast as well - lamb and mixed roasts were second to none, highly recommend booking in for it if you're staying on Sunday. The food was fresh and delicious every day, whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner, massive thank you to the Chef and the Kitchen Staff.

Fabulous location, great staff, very friendly. Had a lovely evening meal. Clean, plenty of room. Loads of very safe parking. Super convienient for airport and Donington Park circuit - both 10 to 15 mins max. Building has a fascinating history - ask for printed details.
