Potenza is a great town to visit. This apartment was amazing and right in the center of town. It was well appointed and we wished we had stayed more than one night. We highly recommend this place.

Parking. It isn’t convenient nor is it close. It was even worse because there was a comic convention in town and there was no parking anywhere in the city. We had to park at the bottom of the hill. Luckily we found the longest elevators we had ever seen that took us back up to the top. It was not so bad, but quite a hike with luggage

Unfortunately 1 night out of 6 we were kept awake by local bar having live music

Sensational location in the heart of the main old town square. Antonio was a fantastic host responding to every question very quickly, booking a taxi for our arrival (he offered, we didn’t have to ask), and giving us a list of restaurants etc for our stay in Potenza. The flat was amazing, it was beautifully furnished with amazing antique furnishings and many beautiful art pieces were on the walls. The flat has a large central shared living area ( there are two seperate units available) which overlooks the main piazza however our unit is a flat on its own with a bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, and living dining area. We found no need to use the large shared lounge room apart from to look over the square. An amazing apartment and a great stay.

One of the best places we stayed at in Italy

Loved this apartment on Via Pretoria. The shared living room is wonderfully appointed and was a respite as we had been on the go for a week. The two bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen were very well supplied and comfortable. The location could not be better- you have a front row seat to the main square and, as Via Pretoria is a pedestrian only street, a great people watching perch. You can find everything you need on Via Pretoria, the shopping, markets, and eateries are plentiful and the rhythm of life different from home. Our host, Antonio, was fantastic - we had difficulty finding the parking garage and he hopped in the car to lead the way - he had procured our 5 day parking pass prior to our arrival and responded to my many questions with patience and good humor - the kitchen was stocked with wine when we arrived and he dropped off fresh cheese for us to try later in the week. Great host! We took day trips in the area and found Potenza to be a good home base. We visited a Avigliano (family town) and went to the Chestnut Festival in Melfi. Great place to stay.

I liked everything about the property. A Caveat to travelers with mobility issues: there is very little parking and Potenza is a real hill town. We parked in a paid parking garage ( if I remember correctly was 6 euros a day) which involved one elevator to get to two escalators ( cost about one euro) then a second elevator and then a walk to the square where the apartment is located. Easy once you do it but we needed Antonio to help us.
