Bathsheba, Luxurious Shepherds Hut set in Todber a hamlet set in Thomas Hardy's iconic rural Dorset

Loved everything! Paula and Andy are so welcoming and you have your own privacy. Loved being in nature and we had wonderful sleep. The goats are so funny and cute to watch. The swimming pool is great and the neighbourhood is fab for a walk. We were left some wonderful items for breakfast and we enjoyed having the firepit.. Highly recommended and we will come again.

We have had a fantastic short stay at the shepherd's hut. It is exceptionally well built and equipped, very cosy and comfortable. The little kitchenette has everything we needed, bowls, plates, pots and pans, glasses, utensils etc. There were kitchen towels, salt & pepper, washing up liquid and sponge so no need to bring them with you. The beds were comfortable. The convertible bed in the kitchen only just fit my 14 yo (he is 170cm) but he was very comfortable. The location is perfect, nice and quiet with beautiful views. Our 9 yo loved the pool, even though the water was cold :-) The breakfast basket was amazing! The hosts are very welcoming and accommodating, Thank you! We will be back!

We absolutely loved everything about it. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming, if we could rate them more than a 10/10 we would! They made sure we had everything we needed and took care to show us where everything was in the hut (which was very well supplied with appliances, even a hob and oven to cook!). On arrival were even given a loaf of homemade bread still warm out of the bread-maker, fresh eggs from their own chickens, and a lovely big bit of delicious butter for our breakfast in the morning. The cabin was lovely and warm with its own little log burner, and there were plenty of unrestricted windows if we needed some fresh air. The bed was super comfy and in perfect condition with a lovely big duvet and 2 pillows each. There was a fire pit and a basket of logs with fire lighters so we had a BBQ, and the cabin was set at the back of the field giving us all the peace, quiet and privacy we needed for an absolutely lovely weekend. Thank you hosts! We’ll be back very soon :)

Beautiful cabin, very warm and cosy for the 4 of us. The hosts are amazing, the kids loved the pool, even if it was a little chilly. The gift pack was such a lovely touch, made to feel very welcome. Say hi to Dan if you see him before me.

A slightly better description on where the entrance is, phone / satnav signal dropped out, and we were left driving round trying to find the gate

Peaceful surroundings for a good night's stay

The shepherd’s hut has everything you need! It is scrupulously clean and visitor comfort is obviously a top priority. The owners were super- helpful, providing a welcome basket full of goodies. Can’t recommend enough! ☺️
