"Value for money"

9.0

A modern house that had a lot of space and all the things required for an excellent stay. Huge bonus to have an ensuite in one of the rooms. It was clean and it was a nice thought to have a little branded box of tea and coffee.

Could not access parking behind the property because the gate was locked and we had no details. I did park the car opposite on a street and there were no issues. The code door is at the rear of the property and I did not know that. No shower in the main bathroom, it is in the ensuite.

"Value for money if you can ignore the neighbourhood"

Modern and attractive inside l, all mod cons

Area was rough, ugly and seedy, thin walls, not very clean - found rubbish under sofa and lots of dust. Rubbish in overgrown front garden

"Honestly, I don’t recommend booking this property."

1.0

Location was good. 25 minute walk into the city centre. Ample private off-street parking.

Where do I start? Upon arrival, there was rubbish across the pavers leading to the front door caused by a tradesman that appeared (but not confirmed) to be contracted by the property agency. They were gutting the unit beside and chucking out everything via the top window into the back of the truck which was parked between the two units. Initially I thought the key safe that was blocked by the workers truck was the one I needed to access so I kindly asked if they could move the truck momentarily which was met with rudeness. Granted, this isn’t the fault of the property but when I advised the property manager, they simply said to ignore them. Given that this worker appeared to be contracted by the agency, it was even more disappointing to be met with such hostility. Upon opening the front door, property appeared to be pleasant and clean. A few steps in and you see all of the stains on the carpet in the living room and the scratch and scuff marks all throughout the property on the walls. My mother ran her finger along the tops many fixtures to find a lot of dirt and dust that hadn’t been cleaned. This occurred in numerous places. Two fans for the whole unit - one desk fan falling apart and the other was industrial sized which was too powerful and too loud on even its lowest setting for any part of a property that size. My mother had to sleep with that on and I went without a fan in my room which didn’t have a window for airflow in place of a fan (which I would have probably compromised with). Only one seat for the dining table. I located the other seat in the bedroom storage cupboard. It had a few screws missing so couldn’t be used. Also located an unusable bedside table in the cupboard which was intended for the large bedroom meaning there was only one bedside table. Pillows on the couch were dirty. All screws for the L-shaped side table by the couch were loose rendering it unusable.
