Bright and calm apartment - Watford

Location. Short walk to High Street. 24/7 Car park across the street. Easy entry.

Thin layers bed. No shower gel provided.

Spacious and the location is good.

No cot as requested The apartment is tired and although quite clean it needs tlc. A caddy with some tea/ coffee/ uht milk would be a welcome addition I'm sure. Especially when you've advised a late arrival.

It was a proper faff to get into the lock box outside the apartment, and once we did open it, we needed a code to get into the building which wasn't provided. We had to ring the owners to get the code and then finally we were in! Once we arrived in the apartment, it was super obvious that the place hadn't been cleaned. There were takeaway boxes on the side of the kitchen, the balcony doors were left open, so there were loads of flies in the living room. The bedrooms were worse, with broken mattresses, towels and rubbish dotted on the floor. This was very frustrating as we needed to have a quick shower and dash out to see our family. I called the owner (again) and they did apologise and said they'll get the cleaner over. However there was no guarantee how long they would take, considering we had plans to meet family. In the end, I let the owners know that we wouldn't be staying at this apartment as we needed access to a clean apartment and shower straight away. Fast track to now, I'm still trying to get a refund from Booking.com or the apartment owners for the terrible service we were given! Considering we didn't even stay at the apartment, I feel like we a due a full refund! It shouldn't take this long at all to resolve.

Good location, quick, regular links into London

Sadly wasn't up to standards. The points made in previous reviews haven't been addressed. A window is cracked in one of the bedrooms, the balcony door doesn't lock, and the access instructions provided by the owner/agent are lacking in vital detail. I discovered a hole in the bottom of the ensuite bathroom door where it appears to have been kicked. The whole building has a generally shabby feel, communal corridors are dirty and walls are marked.

It was very good location for local amenities.

This property was very run down. The window in the bedroom was cracked, pillows very lumpy, inside the kettle was disgusting, the balcony doors didn't lock and being a solo female traveller this left me feeling very unsafe! It was very late by the time I arrived and realised the doors didn't lock so wasn't able to do anything about it! The whole apartment had a musty/cigarette smell which I could smell on all of my clothes when I returned home and lastly the bathrooms weren't very clean, I'm not even sure the bathroom mats had been cleaned from the previous guests, there was also a random loose plug just hanging from a mirror on the bathroom wall very close to the shower which also isn't very safe!
