There are very few hotels on or near the Strip offering free parking anymore, and that, along with the very reasonable room rate (We paid about $60 per night) is what made us choose Ellis Island. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean - better than we expected for the rate we were paying. The staff were friendly and helpful.

While it is "close" to the strip, it isn't quite walking distance, and it isn't in an area that is pleasant to walk around. We were hoping we could just leave our car at the hotel and walk around, we ended up having to drive everywhere. It is a very short drive from the strip and from other dining destinations and museums we went to. While the hotel has a pool, it is tiny, and it always seemed to be very crowded. I went to the happy hour at the rooftop bar, where they had decent drinks for reasonable prices, but there were only a few seats in the shade, and the place was uncomfortably hot, so no wonder there were only a few people there.
