Very near to event we helped at, 7 minute drive!!

Im really sorry but... I had to clean the sink and kitchen table, it was filthy. So was the bath and sink. I left the white paint thats been spilled. The floor in lounge was sticky so we didnt go in there. We also didnt go in cupboards in kitchen as also filthy. Bedding and towels? I didnt know mattresses could be so bad. I had to use 2 quilts and 4 pillows as they were so thin. Shower in bathroom only dribbles so we used showers on venue site.

The bathroom door didn't shut and the toilet was so small you had to sit on it sideways.

The location is lovely and within easy reach of other places.

This property is situated in a lovely area. . . And that's where the positive points end. We arrived to find dirty, food-covered trays in the oven, hairs in the bed, pubic hair in the bathroom sink, and so much dirt and grime behind the toilet that it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. Within days it also became apparent that we were sharing the kitchen with large slugs who liked to come out just as we were eating our evening meal. Nothing like slug mucus to put you off your food! To make matters worse we came home one day to find we had no electricity or hot water. . . Because the owner had not kept the electricity topped up online. Inconveniently, and expensively, we had to then go out that evening to replace all the food that had spoiled in the fridge and freezer. Something that apparently they won't pay compensation for! Also, if you're claustrophobic, this place is awful. I understand fire doors, I really do, but in a place that's meant to be a home from home, having to be shut in the bedroom all night is rather uncomfortable, especially if it's hot - which it was. The doors are also so heavy that children's fingers getting caught is a worry, and forget them behind able to get out of the bedroom at night for the toilet, little ones just wouldn't be able to open the doors. Talking of toilets. . . Possibly the most uncomfortable toileting experience I've ever had. It's so close to the wall, and with a cupboard in front of it, that you have to sit on it sideways. There are also no bath mats provided, for inside or outside the bath, which we found extremely strange and very dangerous. Overall a very disappointing stay. We won't be booking again.
