Evie Cottage - The peaceful Retreat

Lovely small home, ideal for a break away.

Due to the age and set-up of the home I appreciate this cannot be helped, but the stair leading to the bedroom/bathroom on the first floor was tricky. Would have helped if there was a handrail leading to the bathroom for holding to go up the steps and the children struggled. Plus the top of the handrail kept detaching which made it more difficult.

Comfortable property, it had all the amenities that we required. A short walk to the beach & local shops, restaurants etc.

There was a slight issue, due to communication between Booking.com and the host, but we made contact eventually.

Good location and reasonably equipped.

WiFi was weak and no instructions about the heating.

Excellent location - beach at the end of the road and great pub - The Morecambe Hotel - and chippy on the same road. Cottage was compact but perfect for what we wanted. Everything you needed in the kitchen including trays to eat meals on which was great for the little ones. Secure outdoor area at the back for the children, exceptionally clean.

No number on door, couple of issues with light hanging off ceiling in kitchen and no smoke alarm in kitchen, pointed out to Chris who fixed the light there and then. Carpet on stairs coming loose with treads uncovered - again, Chris responded and stated this was due to be replaced. Could do with some coat hooks and a mirror in the attic bedroom, but this didn't detract from our stay.

Location was great clean and tidy

The steps were quite steep and the grips were coming through on some of them there wasn’t a door to the shower so the floor got quite wet there were a few other minor issues which I have informed the manager of the property of.
