The Valley Hotel & Carriage Gardens

Small but comfortable room, felt secure.

Small restaurant, but I believe the bar was closed so it was being used for drinking too.

The staff where every nice and helpful as my partner had forgotten his mouse for his laptop staff where able to give him one to use, the bed was also very comfortable and we got a decent nights sleep despite a few issues with the room itself.

We recently stayed here for a special occasion after being told there would be a few extras arranged in the room for our engagement. Unfortunately, nothing had been prepared on arrival, which was disappointing and set the tone for the stay. The room itself had a few issues — the curtains didn’t close fully, there were a few small stains on the duvet cover, and there were cobwebs in the corner of the room which made cleanliness feel below standard. The bathroom pipes were also very noisy throughout the night. We also ate in the restaurant and were abit disappointed, Despite the restaurant not being busy, the wait for food was quite long and the food itself was not initially up to the standard we expected. The steak had to be sent back to be cooked more, however once it returned it was actually a lovely piece of steak. The burger, unfortunately, was extremely peppery to the point it affected the taste. Overall, the stay felt quite underwhelming, especially given the promises made beforehand and the expectations we had for what should have been a memorable occasion.

Lovely welcoming staff. Clean comfortable bed and room. Very warm at night but there was a fan in the room. The food in the restaurant is amazing! Will definitely be back.
