Suite in the heart of Great Harwood

Good location close to an event that I was attending which was why I chose it.

Cheaply finished, old worn bedding, shower came off in my hand when I adjusted the height of the shower - problem has been mentioned in earlier reviews. Kitchen items very basic - a mish mash of items. Fridge smelled and there were hairs inside from being cleaned with a dirty cloth! Basic clothes rail in bedroom and the small number of drawers had scrunched up bedlinen in them. Bedlinen scrunched up and stuffed in one of the kitchen cupboards. Art work off the wall in the lounge and stuffed down the back of sofa. Coat rack looked like it would fall apart. Extractor fan was faulty - making lots of noise. Massive water stain on the ceiling above the bed, mouldy sealant in the shower. Toiletries just looked like leftovers from previous guests. The vinyl flooring was lifting in the bathroom mainly because it was two pieces. Only supplied with one medium towel each no had towels or a bath mat. The bed sheets were clean but seemed to have small hairs on the bed as if washed in a machine in a household with animals. The agent also asked me to send £200 security deposit to a PayPal account and I had to upload my passport which wasn’t mentioned in the properly terms. I tried to cancel the booking before the date as I was suspicious of the request for the deposit but I was going to be financially penalised even though I paid extra to have a booking that I could cancel. It turns out it’s a managed property and it’s clear that they really don’t care how it’s delivered! When I raised issues with the landlord (or his representative) I just got bland AI style holding notes back saying they’d investigate and then nothing! I wished I’d stayed somewhere else and read the comments before I’d booked!

Nothing everything was amazing

It was a nice, light apartment, ideal for a night stay. Very comfortable sofa, cosy bedroom, and luxury bathroom. Kitchen was nice with all the appliances you could need.

The bedroom was a bit sparce and would benefit from a table on both sides. There was a dirty tray left in the oven which was a bit annoying. The kitchen wasn't very well equipped, lacking cookware and cutlery. The sharp knives are awful.

Slightly larger bed

Apartment was modern and airy with good entertainment system. WIFI was ok. Very clean and warm. Good location for our needs. Relatively quiet for busy location - so slept well. Great having full fridge/ freezer for longer stays.

Why no washing machine? Needs attention to details short of many items in kitchen or they are there broken i.e. chopping board can opener just little things... just have check list for housekeeper! Downside sadly for myself is NO mattress / pillow protectors on bed. When stripped bed on leaving found mattress badly stained so for this reason alone unfortunately would not stay again. Shame because excellent housekeeping elsewhere in property!

Can’t comment

We did not end up staying at the property so can’t comment on the property. Once we booked they tried to charge us an additional fee to bring our dog when it clearly stated ‘pets allowed- no additional charge’ on their booking.com advert. Communication was poor with the hosts and they didn’t get back to us to issue us a refund due to this pet fee discrepancy. We had to raise the issue with booking.com customer service to get a full refund which wasn’t straight forward and took a number of lengthy phone calls to finally get the full amount back.
