Huckleberry House - La Bruyere Farm

We had a wonderful stay over Christmas. Loved the privacy and being in nature. It was a very hot day (41 degrees), but the house was lovely and cool inside. Our two Schnauzers also loved the outing!

I would have loved a map of the farm. We were looking for the dam, but were unable to find it.

Beautifully decorated home in a tranquil surrounding. It was peaceful and very comfortable. We loved walking up to the reservoir and swimming.

There were many flies due to the heat

What a wonderful house, in a perfect location to get away from the city. The walks in the vineyards, the dam—actually, everything about it was marvelous. Thank you, and we look forward to another stay in the not-too-distant future.

We loved not just the character of the home but oh my ... the surrounding landscape was just majestic. It took our breath away each time we looked out. The house is impeccable, thoughtful in terms of function, charming and a great conversation starter. Loved that there was no TV, what better way to immerse oneself in the company of friends surrounded by nature.

I have nothing bad to say.

The house is nice with a good amount of space. The garden and views from the house are also lovely. The fireplaces and hot tub are very useful in winter. The host was responsive to online messages. Bedding was lovely and bathrooms were nice and modern. The natural beauty of Tulbagh is the draw card.

There were some small things that were lacking. There was no information pack or welcome letter. We received no information on the surrounding area, no wifi password, and any information gained was because we specifically asked the host. While responsive to online messages, the host never arrived to welcome us or introduce themselves. Toiletries were lacking in the bathrooms. But tea and coffee was provided (yet no milk). For a house that charges the rates they do, the beds were small. There just seemed to be quite a few missed opportunities to justify the steep price. And unfortunately during our stay, the wifi never worked at all, due to winter storm damage. Cell phone signal is also lacking in the house, so prepare ahead of time to be without communication tools.

Beautiful location, hot tub and activities to do on the farm. Also close to other wine farms etc. No tv, very peaceful
