"Beautiful unique house.an unforgettable experience"

10.0

The Geisha house was a fabulous place to stay. It was historical and atmospheric. Each room was unique. The views from the upstairs were stunning. The garden was peaceful and the snug screen room with Netflix was a treat too. Great hosts too

Everything was great. The hilly approach to the property and the stairs would be difficult for people with mobility problems

"A great newly renovated property in Atami"

8.0

House was very nicely renovated with a balanced mix of traditional Japanese style and modern western design. Kids loved the hidden room on the second floor. House is clean, well maintained, beds were comfy, WiFi in place and the projector was a nice bonus. From the second floor you could catch a view of the sea.

Check-in was not great. As we were approaching the property, my kids asked to go to bathroom and I was expecting to quickly get into the house as we were nearby. Once we approached the door, I found a message in Booking saying that we must first send details of all the guests, including passport scans (being foreigners). That caught us off guard as we never had to do that outside the property for the past 7 years in Japan. I had to call the owner, explained the situation, but even with that I had to send at least 1 person's information, before I got the pin-code. I hope the owner will look into the ways to optimize the process, because that could frustrate other guests as well. The parking lot is at a steep angle, and it was a bit of a challenge to park our Serena minivan. Also, there was a small problem with electrical switches, which were shutting down a branch that powered AC and projector twice, probably because we were using them at the same time.
