Villa in Youghal - Carleton Village

The apartment was spotless and a good size for a family of 4, two adults and 2kids(2 and 5). There was parking onsite and plenty of it. It was well set up for kids with high chair and travel cot-few toys and colouring books. The kitchen well set up with fridge freezer, microwave wash machine and essentials. The location was good if travelling by car, but situated on a massive hill (windmill hill)so not possible to go by foot - we did the first day and struggled to get home with the kids -21-degree gradient! There is another route but this still has a steep descent and ascent and is double the time.

There was an outdoor pool advertised on the narrative before we booked - I emailed the owner pre arrival to confirm this. I was told it was unlikely to be fixed and ready for our trip so we decided to go ahead despite this. However, when we arrived, it was clear that the outdoor pool had not been used in a very long time and was overgrown-This appears to be removed now on the property description. Unfortunately-the biggest disappointment was the double bed- the bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable and bed wear such poor quality (wasn't surprised to see the penny's label)- felt like sleeping on plastic- really not what you would expect from a property with a superb rating at a cost of €1026.25 for just 3nights. This is why we would not return as we got no sleep for 3 nights. If proper ben linen and bedwear was used we would have had a very different experience.

Such a lovely relaxing space. We really enjoyed our time in Youghal. The information before arrival was the best and very straight forward and we didn’t have any trouble with our self check-in. The house was cozy and felt like home and the little touches around the house really added to the experience. We will be back.

We absolutely loved our stay. It was truly a home away from home, clean and comforting with every thing you would want or need while away. The host was wonderful and we really couldn’t fault it. We look forward to returning in the summer.

Nothing to fault about the property at all, however there is a pool mentioned in the booking and that was closed. I assume it’s a seasonal thing only so might be good to update that accordingly with the dates the pool is open.
