Cheerful 2-bedroom home with free parking

The house is nice. Have the amenities that we need, especially in the kitchen. The parking area is comfortable. Easy check in.

Located in a quiet cul de sac. Easy to reach by public transport. Nice clean carpet upstairs.

Bathroom was so damp there was greenery sprouting out of the plaster round the window, it smelt so badly of damp that we needed to keep the window open at all times. There was no plug for the bath (just an upturned cup), so we couldn't really use it. Not very clean - stale bread in packet left in cupboard, mug full of dirty water and cigarette butts left on table in garden, dirty loo brush. No basic bits such as salt and pepper or shower gel. Just someone's leftover baby wash. Kitchen had herb rack full of empty herb bottles that were filthy. Kitchen needed replacing. Cheap fixtures and fittings.

The host Emily was very friendly, getting keys on arrival was easy and parking was easy outside the front door. Internet was good and there was a fire stick which was great at the regular tv didn’t work properly. Would work fine as a stop off on a journey.

The property is in need of updating in terms of fresh paint, a good deep clean and replacement of many of the utensils, towels and some of the furniture. The house is in a housing estate and is attached which means it is noisy from early to late. There were extra floor boards laying in a pile behind the couch and a strong smell of gloss paint which was uncomfortable for us. Some information about the area and how things worked in the house like bins/recycling etc would have been nice.
