"We would stay here again!!"

8.0

A good sized house for 3-5 people, but 5 adults might find it too small. Clean and well maintained with good facilities - a very nice range in the kitchen!! The shower is a great size (walk-in) and the water pressure was good. The bathroom is a good size. The house is well decorated. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was good. The house is in a good location on the outskirts of Bath. The bus service is very good; you can catch the number 3 or number 4 bus all the way to Bath from the bus stop which is less than half a minute away. The nearest shop (Spar) is half a mile away and there is also a Tesco Express about a mile away. There are bigger supermarkets in Bath and beyond. The are 2 nearby pubs with excellent food; The Charlcombe Inn is less than a mile away and the Hare and Hounds is less than 2 miles away. (You have to drive to both pubs as there is no pavement for some of the route.)

The WiFi is slow. I don’t have anything positive to say about the garden. It is quite small and plain, with half of it being steeply sloped. There is a small patio which could be much improved with a table and chairs. The small gazebo needs a clean/coat of paint; it wasn’t a nice place to sit. We didn’t use the garden at all for these reasons. The kitchen rug is a trip hazard. All 3 of us tripped on it during our stay. The house is on a long hill; downhill towards the city/town and uphill towards the racecourse etc. The walk uphill to the house was too much for my elderly mother. The coffee machine is limited as you can only use pods. A filter coffee machine would be better. However, there is a cafetière which we used every day. The driveway is tricky as it is curved, with a wall on one side and a drop on the other. The drop isn’t huge, but it’s enough to do some serious damage to a car if one of the wheels goes over the edge. I always reversed in because it made it much easier to get out. The road can be busy and noisy; the limit is 20 miles an hour, but past the priority/give way sign (going away from town) it rises to 40 miles an hour. Drivers see that as an opportunity to put their foot down and exceed that limit. There were 3 of us staying in the house. The house is shown as sleeping 6. I think that is unrealistic. There are 3 bedrooms. Master bedroom - a good sized room with a double bed 2nd bedroom - a good sized room with twin beds 3rd bedroom - a small room with a double bed My thoughts are……the double bed should be in the 2nd bedroom and a single bed should be in the 3rd bedroom. Added to that, there is a restriction at the end of the bed in the 3rd bedroom; you cannot walk round to the other side of the bed. The master bedroom is the only room with wardrobes. There is no clothing storage at all in the 3rd bedroom. No mirror in the 3rd bedroom.

"Clean, comfortable property in a nice location."

8.0

A great location. The property was very clean and comfortable. Lovely area. Lovely garden to enjoy. Great communication between myself and the host.

The road is a little noisy at times and the driveway is a little tricky to get out of.

"Would highly recommend!"

9.0

The property was spacious and clean (especially the bathroom). I’m big on hygiene so this was a big tick from me. It had everything we needed for a weekend break with the family. It’s a short drive from the town centre located in a quiet spot. The driveway made it easy to park our car. 4 of us stayed but it’s big enough for 6 comfortably or more if you use the fold out sofa in the living room. Bedrooms were nice and comfortable and the decor of the house was tasteful. Nice large family kitchen. We stayed in winter but I can imagine it being even nicer in spring or summer.

We have no complaint other than checkout was early but we paid an extra £30 and we had the late checkout. The host was helpful and was very accommodating. If you had more guests you would need more loo roll. We had enough for our stay.

"Property was the best one we stayed at throughout our worldwide trip with our family."

10.0

Excellent host and well managed property. After a long world wide trip the beautifully furnished property felt like a home away from home. We travelled with two teens, and it was perfect as everyone had their own space.
