A lovely spot in Olhao. I was there is the off-season, but there is lots of communal outdoor space and it looks like it would be a great spot to languish during the summer. And the breakfast was exceptionally good -- fresh fruit and eggs, yum.

I have mixed feelings about my experience, primarily due to the handling of fee-related communications and customer service. While the hotel itself is lovely and well-equipped, with a heated pool, a small but nice sauna, and lovely decor, I found the manager, Marcus, disrespectful and unkind when addressing my concerns about undisclosed fees. Specifically, I was unaware of a €25 late check-in fee for arrivals after 8:30 PM, which was not clearly stated on the Booking site or in the booking confirmation. However, the communication clearly noted that the check-in is until 8:30 pm. It also clearly states to notify the hotel of late arrivals to best accommodate, but fails to clarify that a fee would apply. I was only informed about the fee when I mentioned that I would be arriving after check-in hours. I’ve traveled extensively and typically rely on Booking.com for reservations without needing to check individual hotel websites for hidden fees. The lack of clarity around check-in fees, especially compared to other clearly stated charges (like smoking fees), was frustrating. When I expressed my disappointment, Marcus responded dismissively, disrespectfully, and very defensively. However, I understand the reasons for charging a late fee. And I would Not mind paying for it if I were timely aware of it. My point was about the lack of clarity on Booking and the confirmation emails. Room Condition: Additionally, upon arrival, my room was quite cold, and we struggled to adjust the heater. Rather than receiving support, I felt blamed for not knowing how to operate the heating system. It would have been more considerate for the staff to ensure the room was warm before my arrival and to assist when we expressed a need for attention promptly. The room was so cold that we froze all night. And on top of everything, I was shamefully addressed for not knowing how to operate the room heater.
