"Fine but disappointing"

5.0

The host was attentive and they keys were easy to collect.

The four weeks we spent with Mesh accommodation were a little disappointing. To begin, the house had not been cleaned properly and there were significant amounts of dust and debris throughout the house. The bedrooms whilst neatly appointed had little to no storage spaces meaning we spent most of the month living out of suitcases. The finishings were generally haphazard and little thought had been applied, some utensils were broken (e.g. tin can opener) and one of the bathrooms didn’t have a toilet brush. The bathroom downstairs had no lock, and the handle was not even screwed into the door properly, there was not stand for toilet roll and the automatic lights continually flicked on and off – a concern should we have suffered from epilepsy. The drains also had a significant smell that could not be washed/cleaned away. In the kitchen both the fridge/freezer and sink continually leaked. The fire alarm also had not been turned on at all and we only noticed this because we checked the fuse box because of a water heating issue. In fairness to the host when we raised an issue about a lack of hot water this was promptly resolved on both occasions. However, it was disappointing that this had not even be checked in the first place. We did attempt to put the heating on one evening however this too did not work. There was also road works which the host had been sufficiently warned about (there was a letter on the table), but we were not informed and these significantly imposed on the accessibility of the driveway. Overall whilst the house was adequate for our stay, I would not want to stay there again. Whilst the host was attentive and helpful to our concerns there were just too many to be excusable.
