Uncomfortable furniture, poor kitchen equipment

Super Lage, mitten in einer Mall! Mega nette Vermieter, die sehr hilfreich und gastfreundlich waren. Wir kamen als Gäste und gingen als Freunde!

This apartment was very easy to get to from Helsinki airport, as it is located pretty much on the doorstep of Pasila (Böle in Swedish) railway station, which itself is part of the Mall of Tripla. Although, saying that, we did get lost on the way trying to get through the shopping centre to find exactly where we needed to go to get to the front door. So we were very grateful that the host, Shu, was contactable and was able to meet us to walk us to where we needed to go - thank you! The studio apartment itself is spacious and it was luxurious to have a windowed balcony (which does seem to be quite standard for Finnish apartments) where there was also a day bed and seating. Since it was midsummer (a public holiday in Finland which we were not aware of) when we arrived, having access to the open air was refreshing. Even more so, when we also had the frequent rain that also helped cool the air! As well as the usual amenities such as WiFi, flat screen TV, kitchenette with cooker and refrigerator, and the shower/toilet, we were mightily impressed by the fact that there was a single person sauna (a bit tricky to get in and out, but quite a treat) and an impressive digital piano in the apartment, which was fun to try and remember music that I had practised long ago. Like I said, this was practically in the shopping mall, so there was easy access to various eateries and shopping of all sorts, and a 24-hour supermarket. Furthermore, this was an extremely convenient location to travel into true central Helsinki since Pasila is the penultimate stop before going into Central itself when taking the train. But you can also take the more leisurely public tram (all part of the same public transport network), and we did take advantage of these connections when exploring more of Helsinki. Overall, a wonderful place to stay and so pleased with Shu for hosting us!

The only thing that I can say that I did not like was that one of the kitchen chairs was a bit unstable to sit, but that was an easy remedy to solve by the fact that there was plenty of other chairs and a sofa to sit on(!) I can only say that I wish we could have stayed longer (even though, we were there for almost a whole week) for our first trip to Finland.

Very convenient location, right next to the big station/mall. Lots of restaurant, shops.

No coffee machine, French press, we had to go buy coffee in the morning. There was tea bags.

Super flexible. The host was ready to hand out the keys at any time. They also came to help me out with the TV screen at the evening so that I was able to cast a movie from my laptop. I liked the fact that the apartment had many necessities that a hotel room does not have.

Nothing to complain about. I left a list of items that they might want to purchase for their guests such as iron.
