Riverside Inn by Chef & Brewer Collection

Located on the outside of a bend in the River Severn, the views from the restaurant are fantastic. The whole of the Inn was renovated and redecorated in William Morris style in 2021. No expense seems to have been spared. We were struck by the ambience of the place as soon as we walked through the door. The theme has been continued to the bedrooms. Ours was just the right size with plenty of clothes storage space, a very comfortable bed, warm but with plenty of natural ventilation if desired. The bathroom had a large wash basin and shower over the bath, altogether very pleasant. We had an evening meal and breakfast. There was an excellent choice for both. I presume the menu was standard Chef & Brewer, but with a wide additional local selection, from which we both had the duck, which was melt-in-the-mouth superb. The staff were all really helpful and informative. It has been 6 years since we last visited, when it was in previous ownership. It is now at another level, which we did not expect, so our stay overall was fantastic! Well done the management and staff!

There was a fixed head on the shower, with no hand spray, and the step up into the bath was a bit high, but it was very warm and wet, so met our needs adequately.

Friendly welcome and all the team were outstanding our short stay. The evening meal was fabulous, my husband loved the steak and ale pie, whilst I would recommend the seabass and king prawn risotto. Excellent range of wines and spirits in the cosy bar area. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Quality tea/coffees and the mini Green and Black chocolate bars were a nice touch. We would have no hesitation staying here again or recommending the Riverside Inn.

Very good breakfast. Grainne was a perfect waitress, polite and friendly. She is an asset to your business.

Might have preferred a back room with river views, but road side was not too much of a problem.
