"The house was perfect for our family in size, amenities, and location. Loved the visit!"

9.0

This was a great place to stay for our growing family, with parents, adult children, and grandchildren all having nice areas to both come together and separate individually within the house. We loved the location of the house, too. Not only was the grocery store across the street very convenient, but the whole of Custer's main street was right at the doorstep within walking distance. Several of our party enjoyed the hiking and paved walkway a few blocks away, and all of us enjoyed being fairly close to so many sights and events surrounding the Custer area, such as Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, jeep rides, spelunking, horseback riding, and cookouts.

There are quite a few street lamps outside that shine all night which came through the window coverings. For some, it was too bright for sleeping restfully. Blackout shades would be helpful in those exposed rooms. However, after the first night, we figured out a work-around for those who needed more darkness.

"Walk to stores and restaurants. Nice older house with lots of room."

9.0

Large and rustic. Plenty of room and a great location for us. Family Reunion so we had 9 people there.

Some loose faucets and cabinet handles but no real defaults. The fact that there were only two bathrooms made things a little complicated but again, not a problem. The hot tub was nice after hiking.
