TESS CasAntigua, una casa con sabor a Guatemala

In my honest opinion, the pictures of the villa are a little bit misleading. The villa is old-ish and needs updating and a deep cleaning. I don't know about the general pricing in the area but in this case the value to money didn't add up. Attached are photos for reference. When we arrived the sofa was broken, it literally broke down when seated. Other furniture pieces were also broken, lamps, mirrors, sunloungers etc. Airconditioning didn't work in one of the rooms. The host said they were doing their best to fix the problem. The fix was promised for monday (3 nights away) but when monday arrived, nobody came and we were not informed about delays. The aircon ended up being broken throughout our stay. We asked for compensation but didn't get one, not even a late checkout. The terrace area was quite dirty and we were sweeping it the first night. There was a weird smell in the garden that I believe came from dog pee, since guests are allowed to bring dogs. Also one of the duvets in the bedrooms had big brown stains in it, and we had to wash it. Inside and outside there are many different levels. For example you need to go down 4 sets of stairs from the kitchen to the pool area. Not the safest for children. Also the rail separating the living room and dining area was wonky. As finnish people we are maybe not used to some things but we found it quite weird that there was no ventilation in any of the bathrooms. After showering the moisture had nowhere to go so no wonder that shower curtains were moldy. In one of the bedrooms bathroom (poolside) after you would flush the toilet the "waste" would sometimes rise up the shower floor drain. Good to mention, you can't flush any toilet paper and have to put it in a bin, but I guess thats just general custom in Spain. We ran out of utilities three days in and bought washrags, hoisehold papers, toilet papers, dishwasher tablets, trashbags etc. ourselves.

Amazing villa. Great value for money. Surprised at how grand and well equipped the villa was. The kids loved the pool, and the space to play. Loved the little annex at the bottom, my eldest son had that room to himself.

Only negative about the property was it was quite difficult to walk to the beach front with it being in the opposite side of the motorway. Took a good hour to walk there. However, a taxi was only around 20 eurp.
