We found the location to be quiet and ideal if you're going to the hospital. There are a few places to eat in the immediate vicinity, but it's only a 10 minute walk to the main area of El Palmar. Some guests mentioned it being a 'dodgy' area - it's not, it's just a working class area (if that, as there's a mixture). We found everyone in the building or nearby to be very friendly. I feel that some people need to do their research about El Palmar: it is by no means a place that you would visit for a break, but rather a working-class town whose main function locally is the huge hospital there or for workers to live in for the surrounding factories or fruit farms. Yes, the surrounding areas are lovely, especially if you like hiking or want to visit the city of Murcia, but El Palmar isn't a place you go on holiday to - you're there because you have to be. Some people complained about the bed, but we had no complaints at all and found it very comfortable. The air conditioning is excellent. It really has everything you need for a few nights. It was very clean. For these factors we would give the apartment 9 out of 10. In general, the host was very good about replying to messages, but.............

...parking was one of the reasons we booked here but there was no fob to enter the parking. We did message the host via WhatsApp (and the message was read) but had no reply. Luckily there was parking right outside the apartment. I said everything was clean, but the crockery (we only used 2 cups and 2 glasses) had to be washed before we used them. This isn't the fault of the host but rather of previous guests who obviously have little respect for the apartment or future guests. However, the host should be checking these small details. There are sufficient utensils in the kitchen, but basically only 2 of everything (except glasses). Fair enough, it's an apartment for 2 people but to have a few more extras would be a good idea. Our main complaint, and this is quite a big one, is the noise from the fridge which is in the room where the bed is. I was fine as I wear earplugs anyway, but husband had a poor night's sleep and this is something that the host needs to address (I'm not sure how as there's nowhere else to put the fridge) as I suspect that most of people who use it are there for appointments at the hospital and therefore need to be able to rest. For the parking and the fridge we rate the apartment at a 7. To be fair, if the noise from the fridge was sorted out, I would have no qualms about staying there again.
