"They cancelled last minute. Feels like a scam"

We were informed that they were cancelling our booking very last minute. We were on our way to the airport to get to the house when we were informed of "un expected maintenance". We were a group of 5 adults travelling for a sports event so required enough beds and rooms and would be unable to afford something expensive. No other alternative was given by the people managing the stay so co tacted booking.com. they were unable to get through to the owners and have advised us that due to this our stay will be cancelled and refunded. I had to find us a new house to stay in at additional expense and now we have to wait for a refund. During our stay at the other house I've recieved multiple messages from this house owner "hoping we are enjoying our stay" and advising us of checkout procedures. I am now unsure if the cancellation process will be properly completed and it is still causing stress and worry. The owners of this house are scammers. They didn't give gus a real reason for the LAST MINUTE cancellation and not answering to the main website just confirms this. I don't recommend booking this place at all. I thought the price was too good to be true and I was right.

Nothing they cancelled on us last minute.

Couldn't possibly comment on how nice the place was as they cancelled our booking the morning we were due to stay. I'm still awaiting a full refund and iv sent numerous messages since Friday and they haven't responded to any of them. Do yourself a favour and avoid and save yourself any disappointment. We had some very upset children that were looking forward to going to alton towers at the start of their summer holidays. Luckily we managed to book somewhere else but until we get our refund I'm out of pocket.
