Loch Ness – Luxury Highland Retreat

Safron was great to show us around when we arrived and give us a wee tour with a little history. There is plenty to do in the grounds themselves, and the Boat house restaurant is great. Everything is well kept and well looked after. The gym is small, but the rowing machine is great and it is limited to 2 poeple per hour, so that's good. The pool is nice and relaxing and clean, although I wish it could be booked earlier. You are allowed to fish down the river, still on the grounds and the bottom of the loch. My Dad tried fly fishing a few times, and true to form, did not catch anything. Which is sad, as we definately could have cooked a good trout in our appratment kitchen! Surrounding area also really nice for walks and drives, and only about 45 - 60 mins beautiful drive past the locks to the foot of Ben Nevis. The room itself was fabulous! Beds super comfy, loads of space for an appartment. TV with all the stuff. Big kitchen with the added touch of providing us with some essentials, such as bread, eggs, milk, bacon etc - yes, I consider a bottle of wine essential!! :) upon arrival - was such a wonderful touch, often overlooked by these kinds of stays, but it makes all the difference. Washer-dryer worked well, so you can do your laundry before you leave. Dishwasher also worked well. Nice over and gas hob. Again, beautfiul and well mantined grounds and garden, and I probabaly have higher expectiations than most... What a wonderful place! Can't wait to return here with my kids - they will absolutely love it!

Minor thing was the arms of the sofa - there were not comfortable without the small cushions. I'd recomend some more / bigger cushions. My mum stretched over to pick something up, but actually bruised her ribs on the hard edge. That was a real shame, as everything else was beyond expectations. NOTE: There is no life / elevator. There are many appartments - this one is on the 1st floor ("2nd floor" outside of UK) so was a bit of stair clmibing. No bother really, but just somthing to keep in imind. Side note: The pool table in the shared (beutifully restored) club lounge needs attention - the balls stick to the side coz it isn't flat! But that's nothing to do with this room.

This property was outstanding, everything about the apartment said quality. High standard and as comfortable as can be.

Location and facilities were incredible. Safron, our contact was so friendly and helpful and explained everything clearly and simply. The apartment was beautiful and we had the most amazing stay.
