Inn at Poplar Corner B&B on Chincoteague Island

A Victorian style B&B with all modern amenities, including central air conditioning, located in the heart of Chincoteague. Diana was a gracious host, and we spent a lot of time talking about the B&B and life on the island.

Mosquitos can be a problem on both Chincoteague and Assateague. Diana had plenty of bug repellant available.

The owner is lovely and made sure I had everything I needed. Big plus - she is an excellent cook and baker and very generous - so the included breakfasts were delicious!

Wonderful breakfasts, especially the crab quiche. Victorian style decor, in perfect condition. Terrific TVs on moveable lightweight stands, with Roku access. Wonderful porch with comfy seating; we spent a whole afternoon just rocking and watching the world go by. The Inn had beach chairs, umbrellas, bicycles, and such that we could borrow. Assateague beach is a 10 minute drive with plenty of parking. A lovely beach with soft, clean sand. Off season (September) it was not heavily crowded but we were not alone. Pleasant, welcoming atmosphere.

I could have used more coffee and milk than was provided. We had to ask for ice each evening for our drinks. Maybe there was low supply, however. Just opened August 2024 and the hostess is still firming up her routines.

Diane was great; she was very warm, welcoming and thoughtful. The delicious breakfasts and packed lunches she provided helped fuel adventures all over the island. The location was also perfect, central to restaurants, Captain Dan's tour and the National Park. I hope to return soon.

Diana’s inn was the shining highlight of our stay in Chincoteague. Of all the activities we did in chincoteague, sitting on the beautiful balcony or the wrap around porch sipping wine was our favorite past time. Diana was welcoming and sweet, and can cook quite well. The location was also amazing as we could walk to most dinners or take the bikes that are included in the booking.

The host made us feel very welcome and as a queer couple, this isn't always the case. We really enjoyed the breakfast, which was made in the morning for us as well as packed lunches. We were able to ride the bikes around town and had an easy time getting around, as the Inn is very conveniently placed. Truly a great experience.
