Staff is friendly and very helpful. The building is quiet. The street is messy with a lot of garbage around. The location is good otherwise for shorter stays.

All day sun in the apartment requires that the curtains be kept shut during day time. Small cockroaches in the kitchen. Area is messy and lots of garbage on the street.

"Awesome apartment but check in procedure needs improvement"

7.0

I loved the actual apartment. It has everything you need and is designed so beautifully. The view from the apartment is so beautiful. Jessica was also helpful and welcoming as a host. The location was ideal for me as I was attending lectures on Bree street so I could just walk to and from. There is also a fantastic sushi restaurant called Active Sushi just up the road. In terms of getting groceries, since it's self-catering, you can easily do a Checkers Sixty60 order for delivery. The apartment itself is very comfortable. The air-conditioning is a definite plus in summer. The kitchen is also well stocked with appliances and crockery. The apartment was very spacious. I really liked the bathroom with a big shower. The bed was also very comfortable, I slept very well. There is really nice attention to detail for guests, from comfortable cushions on the couch to the complimentary tea, coffee and sugar as well as a washing machine and dryer, should you be in Cape Town for a longer time. There are also beach towels in the cupboard, which was a nice touch and saved us from buying our own beach towels.

The process of getting the keys was inconvenient. I contacted the host before our flight to Cape Town to ask about check in procedure and she said that the key would be with security. After a long day, a flight, and knowing I had lectures early the next morning all I wanted to do was have a shower and go to bed. However, once we got to Temple House the security had no idea where the key was. She wasn't really offering any solutions, I had to go up to the apartment and down to reception twice with her as she tried two different sets of keys. She was not helpful and was quite rude. I had to call Jessica, the host, twice, even though I felt that Jessica and the security should have been communicating with each other, I was like a middle man feeding info back and forth. Eventually Jessica sent her spare key via Uber delivery while we waited at the restaurant up the road. The parking was also a nightmare. The spare key did not work on the garage so we had to ask security to open for us every time we used the car. There was also no set parking bay. We had to keep moving the car to different spots, during the day. Another thing to note is that while the apartment is really beautiful and well kept, the apartment building needs maintenance. The rooftop pool area, which I was excited to try, was shoddy and the flooring is breaking. It's actually quite difficult to walk around up there without tripping.
