Small but bright single room not far from City Centre

Everything was spot on and Kevin was the perfect host.

The price for the stay was very good. The shared bathroom was clean. Lock on the door. Free parking on the street was available. Good for a basic overnight stay.

The vibe I got was more of a lodger than a guest. Everything needed was provided including bedding, towel and a kettle but the room felt like more of a spare room used for occasional paid stays than a guest room. Little things showed this; the kettle in a position where it didn't reach the extension lead, the chest of drawers wasn't left empty for guests, no welcoming extra touches to room. The entrance hall smelled of dog. ( I love dogs but it might be off putting.) There were three doors and I had two keys. When I popped out to the car I closed the inner door due to the dog but on return found I was locked out of the inner door. As the hosts were out I was left with a dog continually barking and thankfully another guest upstairs who eventually heard my calls and door bell ringing and rescued me! It may be that I missed something with the key handover, but I couldn't get the front door key to work on the inner door key and didn't want to risk breaking it. I'm sure the host would have helped if I'd contacted her, but I mention ths issue just as a heads up to help to avoid it happening to another guest.

Jenny was communicative before I arrived and really friendly/approachable on arrival. The room was lovely and cosy, bed very comfortable with a kettle etc. Everything was really clean and easy to use, double lock on the door. I felt very safe and welcome

I am a return visitor so this should say a lot. Please see my previous review. Again this is not a fnacy hotel but it doesn't have the fancy hotel price either.

This is a simple single room that is value for money. With this in mind, it delivered on what it promised and Jenny was really helpful and polite.
