Retreat to Stella Maris Soul Spa by the Russian River

Lovely home. The upstairs has the sauna, queen bed, and couch. Beware that the staircase leading up to this area is very steep with smaller-than-average stairs. I wouldn't let anyone with mobility issues go up there. We were leery of going up one night when we had a lot to drink, haha! The downstairs also has a queen bed, bathroom, living room, atrium area, kitchen, and entry way. There's also a back deck that looks out onto the neighborhood. The front yard has multiple levels with decks and stairs, including a brand new hot tub. We also used the Traeger BBQ both nights to cook our steaks and corn. The whole place is walking distance to the little beach down the hill (about a 10 min walk). There is a general store about 4 blocks away that has really good sandwiches for like $9. But get there early (I think bread is delivered at around 10am), as we went one day before hitting the beach at 2pm and they were completely out of bread. It is about 10 min from the downtown area, and a golf course.

Could've been closer to restaurants. If you aren't driving or cooking, you're very limited.

There was no directions for hot tub. Did not how to operate. Also bathtub needs a non slip mat in bottom.

This is a peaceful home with so much charming and character. It is a perfect place for a getaway and enjoy the peaceful forest. The hot tub was one of our favorite features.

Took a bit to figure out the AC system since there is no central air but the two units are okay to keep the place cool during the heat of the summer.

It was a huge comfy property chock full of ameninties. It had everything we could imagine needing and more. The boho romantic decor creates an excellent vibe.

The kitchen smelled heavily of dog urine. The bathtub faucet trickled constantly. There was a small wasp nest in the porch eve above the red couch.

The location was convenient.

Very odd layout with many trip factors. Not great for older folks. The bed was ok, but the sheets were not.( plastic feeling) The house needs better lighting. Road is well traveled.

We loved the outdoor seating areas. A lot of thought and effort has gone into the decor and environment. The kitchen appliances were great. The contained yard was perfect for our dog. The house is in walking distance to the River and the store. We enjoyed the hot tub and the grill outside.

The busy street was related to a local event. The television controls were confusing.

Great location next to river. Hot tub was nice. Overall a relaxing experience.

The space was perfectly set up with many seating areas, and the kitchen was wonderful to cook in, featuring many new appliances. I loved the jetted spa tub outside, and since my dog is so old now, having that ramp up the front steps was amazing. Everything was lovely, and I would definitely come back again! The location is within walking distance to the river, and a very short drive to either Jenner or to Guerneville. I love Monte Rio!

Wow wow wow! My husband and I love travelling and visiting different places and what an amazing find this is. We were only here for one night as part of a road trip from the UK, but could have stayed for much longer. Communication was the best. This place is so well equipped - it really is home from home. The owners have thought of everything - in fact I don’t think we have ever stayed in a place as well equipped as this, and this made our stay perfect. Loved sitting on the deck listening to the wind chimes and chilling out. Thank you so much for a relaxing stay.
