Rien. Tout était très bien.

The location of the Guest House is great. Its just in the middle of Minaret and the town Centre. All the famous sites are walking distance from the guest house which is great. The staffs are very friendly. They even allows us for the late check in due to our train timing.

The WiFi would have been better. the signal was not great in our room but outside is fine.

"Friendly, clean and perfect location."

This is a traditional style house built around a central courtyard. The family (of 4) lives here in the front section, and there is usually someone home if you have any issues. There are, I believe, 4 guest rooms off of the small courtyard. I had the double room on the side, the best one with a larger bathroom and a ground-level entrance. The rooms are all newly renovated and very clean and modern, and the sheets smell great, I don't know how they do it, but there were really nice smelling. The single rooms on the back have a very small shower (it's an old house retrofit to be a guesthouse) and so if you're big or tall, I highly recommend booking the double room on the side. The house has its own water pump! That means you have **REAL WATER PRESSURE** in the showers! So many reviews complain about the water pressure in Uzbekistan, well, this place was no problem! A big plus. I experienced piddly water pressure in other locations. The A/C and Wifi work great. Breakfast is a normal Uzbek spread of fried egg, sausage, bread and really nice cherry jam, instant coffee or tea and some sliced fresh veg, and sometimes cottage cheese pancakes. I'm sure they would accomodate any reasonable request. No one really speaks English, but everyone can speak Russian. If you get a tourist SIM you can use a translator. If you want recommendations on restaurants that locals go to outside the touristy centre, ask the father and he can direct you. Melodia is a great place for shish-kebab (shashlyk) and it's an easy 1.5km walk from the guesthouse. In the tourist zone, Shale (Chalet) is probably my fav. Around the corner next to the guesthouse on the little side street, there is a cake and coffee cafe (100m). The location is PERFECT. It's on the river canal that runs right through the centre of the city right next to the second largest minaret - never get lost.

Nothing too extreme. Just some comments: They would prefer that you are home not too late as they generally lock up the entrance gate around 11pm. You can buzz to get in, but you might feel you're putting them out if you're out late. Like everywhere in Uzbekistan, the beds are quite hard compared to western standards, but that's the same everywhere in Uzbekistan, especially at this price range, so it's not unusual. Like I said above, the rooms at the back have a quite small shower and toilet room (keep in mind they have renovated an old house to make the guesthouse) - so if you're big or tall, I'd recommend the double room on the side. * note for those lacking local languages: If you don't speak any local language, get a Tourist Sim for your stay in Uzbekistan. This will help you communicate with the family and help you generally. The family are really great and they want you to have a nice time in Uzbekistan. I got a 50GB Tourist Sim and in 2 weeks of social media, taxis, some streaming, and google I only used 10GB and it cost just a few dollars. You won't really need a taxi in Bukhara mostly, and the family can call a taxi for you, but it gives you a certain freedom to have that option when you're further afield and also it'll save a you the price of the SIM card just taking your first taxi from the Bukhara train station (30km away in Kagan) to the historical centre. You won't have to negotiate prices and be overcharged, and you'll be able to communicate with the host family. I've heard that people had problems using the Yandex Go taxi app with UzTel, but I got a BEELINE sim and Yandex Go (taxi app) worked fine for me. You can attach a card to the app to go cashless, but I just paid cash, the drivers were good about making change and I usually just rounded up a bit.
