Friar Gate House - Grand Georgian Townhouse in Derby Centre

Excellent and large rooms, easy check in, great location, lots of parking for city centre location

Pictures do not do this house justice! Would absolutely recommend. I hired this house for my hen do - plenty of space, everything you need in the kitchen, ample parking and beautifully decorated throughout.

Only downside - the master bedroom took ages to heat up but we were informed of this ahead of time! Additionally a 2nd fob to the drive would have been ideal but we made it work without!

Everything about it was wonderful, I cannot even describe the feeling of walking into such a beautiful and large house. There were so many facilities available within the house like the coffee machine, dishwasher, enormous TV, seemingly endless draws of dining facilities, pool table and more.

The only reason it’s a 9/10 and not a 10/10 is because of the creaky floor boards and the gaps in the floor boards. It didn’t hinder our stay as much, only a minor inconvenience in such a beautiful house. The parking in the back was also under trees so the birds completely painted our cars in poo which wasn’t ideal.

A beautifully spacious location for a large gathering of friends. Loved the combination of old and new in the decor.

Not property related but the owner was a little on the rude side. Gates to back of property would not close after a period of time and both fobs to close them were on constant red. Owner suggested one of my friends had ‘clipped’ them with her car and would not acknowledge my apologies nor my offer to help in any way. Was very little in the way of communication after that, just recieved a message saying ‘don’t know I’ll get someone to sort it asap’ before leaving my final message apologising (for something we are not even convinced was our fault) on read. The whole abrupt interaction completely ruined my friends stay as she was left believing she was to blame.

Fantastic stay - exceptional property.

The house was beautifully decorated and far larger than it appeared on pictures. The period touches were amazing and the property was very clean. Robyn the owner was very responsive to our needs.

Laundry services

Fantastic communication with the owners, loads of parking for us all, venue was perfect for our get together. Rooms were brilliant, plenty of space to chill and the kitchen was ideal for us to play tunes and catch up.
