Our appartment was in a basement. it smelled like one, especially the bathroom.mould is visible in some places. the airfresheners were empty. took 2 days for a refill. did not mask the damp smell completely. the appt was noisy, sound of upstairs appt. carried into out appt. upstairs livingroom was above the bedroom. kitchen was put together by a blind person. no cabinet was installed straigt many would not close correctly we left a day early.

Jättefint område med vacker utsikt från poolen. Vår lägenhet hade bra luftkonditionering och trevlig möblering. Lätt att få plats vid poolen.

Slitet till vissa delar vilket förvånade oss då stället heter ”… Exclusive Holidays …”. Trasiga solsängar. Spisen var dålig och svår att förstår (ingen instruktion) och tvättmaskinen gick igång efter flera minuters försök. Även personalen som hjälpte oss fick inte heller igång tvättmaskinen på första försöket.

Ausgesprochen schöne Lage.

The Macine apartment is part of the luxurious Villa Guinigi complex, in the heart of Borgo Matraia. This apartment was once a mill. This apartment is a self-contained apartment consisting of several rooms. It can accommodate a maximum of 6 people. On the ground floor, there are two bedrooms (the first has a king-size bed; the second has two single beds that can be connected), as well as a large bathroom (with a shower, bidet, toilet, and washbasin). On the first floor, there is a beautiful and bright living room with a fully functional kitchen (with a very nice set of cutlery, dishwasher, safety switch, dishwasher, toaster, stove, and oven). There is also a bathroom on this level (it's a bit more adjoining than the main one), but it's nice that it includes a shower, bidet, toilet, washing machine, storage board, and drying rack). From the first floor, a glass staircase leads to the mezzanine, which can also be used as a bedroom, as it features a large king-size bed, cabinets, a chest of drawers, and two chairs. The first-floor windows offer magical views of the Lucca Valley. The Macine apartment is located a short drive from Lucca , on a hillside, and is part of the historic 15th-century Villa Guinigi summer estate. The entire complex is immersed in greenery. The over 500-year-old Lebanese cedar tree that stands directly in front of the main villa is particularly beautiful. Guests can also enjoy the seasonal swimming pool, which, while not very deep (1.10 m), but has a magnificent panoramic terrace with stunning views of the Lucca Valley. A major advantage is the toilet available for use within the pool area. The apartment price includes parking, excellent Wi-Fi, and a full set of bed linen and towels (pool towels are available for an additional fee). Every guest feels special here, as the complex's staff (led by Mini and her team: Francesca, Filippo, Sara, and Matteo) are incredibly helpful and friendly.

It might be worth eliminating the additional fee for check-in after 8:00 PM, especially for guests arriving from afar (various situations arise while driving). Reception is open from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. We arrived at 8:20 PM and had to pay an additional €50. Guests arriving after 10:00 PM must pay a €100 check-in fee. It's also worth mentioning that guests are required to pay a refundable, but high, security deposit. In our case, it was €500. If you want your money back on departure, it's better to pay cash rather than card. I also want to add that the patio assigned to our apartment was located outside the building; we didn't have direct access to it. We had to exit the building and go down a path. The patio is actually a courtyard surrounded by a wall, with three tables belonging to three different apartments. When you're in the courtyard, all you see is the wall or windows of the building. There's no privacy.

Extremely expensive for what it is. Promised a terrace and bbq and had neither.
