"Very Good"

7.0

I visited this villa with my friends for a two-night stay in May. It’s a beautiful property with a great location—perfect if you’re looking to unwind and enjoy some quiet time, with a lake nearby adding to the charm. However, I’d recommend planning your visit during or after the monsoon for the best experience. The last stretch of the approach road, about 15 minutes, is quite rocky, so it’s best to travel in an SUV as sedans may struggle on that patch. It’s also a good idea to carry your own drinks and snacks. The caretaker couple is extremely helpful and prepares delicious vegetarian meals. However, non-vegetarian options, especially seafood, are not their forte. Make sure to finalize the menu and pricing in advance, as it’s not clearly outlined. Do keep in mind that electricity and Wi-Fi can be unreliable. Mobile networks like Airtel and Jio don’t work well here, so you’ll mostly depend on their Wi-Fi, which is also not very strong. Overall, if you’re looking for a complete digital detox near Pune, this place is a good option for a short, peaceful getaway.

"We had a wonderful monsoon weekend at SaffronStays Sun-kissed, Mulshi, a beautifully designed villa with old-world charm"

9.0

The stunning location – right on the slope of the mountains with a breathtaking view of the lake, especially beautiful in the monsoon. The villa’s design – a perfect mix of old-world charm and contemporary aesthetics. The interiors – tasteful furniture, smart room layouts, large windows bringing in natural light and cosy, comfortable beds. The upkeep – the property is very well maintained. The caretakers – Mr. Rajesh and his wife, who were polite, attentive and served amazing home-cooked local food. The overall experience – a truly relaxing stay for families, ideal for unwinding in nature.

One important point worth noting is the approach to the villa. The slope and drive up are very steep — only a 4x4 jeep can go all the way up. Other cars need to be parked lower down, after which there’s a walk of nearly 150 meters uphill to reach the villa. This isn’t ideal for elders or anyone who may have difficulty walking. It would be great if the owners could repair the slope so that regular cars can also drive up directly.
