Godi's House

A charming, recently renovated cottage with a quirky character, located just a short walk from the town centre. Our initial impressions were excellent, but it quickly became apparent that there were problems, some of which had been reported by previous reviewers months ago. We reached out to the property manager and owner, but they were slow to respond and didn’t seem particularly interested in resolving the issues. A pity, as with a bit of work and maintenance this could be a wonderfully cosy holiday home.

There were problems with most of the doors in the house, which frequently jammed and were coming away from the walls. We weren’t able to close the bathroom door at all. When we arrived, the bed sheets didn’t seem clean and smelled strongly of mildew. When we complained, they were replaced the following day, but the replacements were little better. There is a hob and microwave in the kitchen, but the oven is a wood-burning stove. Nice in winter perhaps, but not ideal if you wanted to rustle up a quick pizza! Despite a spacious basement, there are no facilities for washing and drying clothes and the garden was somewhat overgrown.
