Tropicasa Hotel

Well located on the main road down into Coron Town (approx ten minutes walk). Overall the hotel is a pretty decent stay - clean and does the job functionally with good storage in the rooms, comfy bed and decent shower. We did have some issues with rooms (see below), but the staff on reception were really great in working with us to find the best available solution. Credit to them for that! Also, they were able to book trips (both private and group) as well as transportation to the airport - all of which were seamless experiences. Laundry services are available at the hotel. Again arranged through reception, ensuring the clothes were returned the same day.

Our stay was split over two bookings (after we decided to extend our stay in Coron). Our first room with a pool view was pretty much faultless. Our second booking of the deluxe suite was very disappointing and we asked to be moved with an hour or so of entering the room. This is a more expensive room than the first we had stayed in and whilst it was larger and had a some ‘fancy’ touches, it was neither functional nor comfortable. The room itself had no outside terrace and was incredibly dark. Not only that but the noise from the pool and bar (which seems insistent on playing loud music all day to not many people) made us want to leave. The room has a jacuzzi but no separate shower, meaning you’d have to shower stood in the jacuzzi. There is kitchen with plates, utensils and pans, but no chopping board, knives or essentials like oil, salt, pepper etc. Even a standard feature of the other rooms, a TV, is randomly absent from the more expensive option. We therefore moved back to a room facing the road. This provided more light and peace. It is still loud with the traffic, but less annoying than the bar/pool. It is surprising to see that the rooms are labelled as soundproofed on booking.com - I’m not sure how this can be so, given the single glazed windows that are full of large cracks. We sadly had to move again to another room down the corridor as another basic need in a hotel - wifi, was not working whatsoever in this room. Luckily this was resolved in the last room. Randomly no fridges in the last two rooms (but present in the others we had been in). The reception staff were very helpful throughout and we did get a small refund on our stay for the troubles. I think whoever owns the place needs to invest a little more in ensuring basic needs such as quiet, wifi, fridge and a tv. I get the sense the staff on the ground are continually having to firefight against this lack of investment, which must make their jobs more difficult.

La localisation au top La chambre familial (1 lit double et 2 lit simple) en duplex était parfaite. Très spacieuse au rée de chaussée face a la piscine. Chambre faite chaque jour. L’hôtel est propre et spacieux. Il y a mini frigo, énormément de rangement, petite terrasse à l’arrière. Pour vous rendre à l’aéroport l’hôtel a un service de navette (300PP / personne).

Petit déjeuné pourrai être améliorer pour ceux qui ne mange pas de salé le matin. Dans la douche il y a un petit peu de moisie au niveau des joints.

Frühstück war in Ordnung.

Modern hotel on the main road in Cebu. Lovely, good sized pool. Breakfast was pretty good with a few options to choose from on the top floor. Rooms all clean.

We booked three rooms. The balcony room and family room were good, clean and as described. We also booked an executive suite which wasn’t as described. It was listed as having a sofa bed, TV and terrace and three beds. It didn’t have any of these. Our daughter had to sleep on a very hard and uncomfortable platform instead. The room had no stand up shower and a jacuzzi bath instead. The problem was the water had a brown tinge and you wouldn’t want to sit in the bath. We had one litre of water in the room for 3 nights stay. There was no where to fill up bottles with drinking water so we used a huge amount of plastic bottles which is bad cor the environment. On a side note the main road in Cebu is heavily polluted with motorbike fumes continuously and is very uncomfortable if you have asthma or respiratory issues. The road is unavoidable.

We loved our stay here. The family room was split over two levels and was incredibly spacious, with comfortable beds, a mini fridge, and a private courtyard. Breakfast offered a great variety of self-serve options, and the pool area was lovely. As we were leaving early for the airport, the staff kindly prepared a takeaway sandwich for us, which was greatly appreciated.

Das Frühstück war okay, es wurde für alle Geschmäcker etwas angeboten. Kein üppiges Buffet, aber man kann satt werden.

Unser erstes Zimmer war dreckig und hat gestunken. Wir haben dann ein anderes Zimmer bekommen und bevor wir dieses sehen konnten, wurde noch das Raumspray eingesetzt, um den Gestank zu überdecken. Das Badezimmer ist in die Jahre gekommen und ohne Schuhwerk haben wir die Dusche nicht betreten. Der Transfer zum Hotel war nicht transparent, denn am Flughafen standen andere Preise als die, die uns dann an der Rezeption genannt wurden. Statt 250php 600php. Keine Klimaanlage in der Lobby. Wir sind nach zwei statt fünf Nächten abgereist.

The pool and bar area were really nice.

Velice milý a profesionální personál. Vynikající snídaně s velkým výběrem. Pokoj byl prostorný. Bazén s barem byl super. Byly tam dobré drinky. Celkově byl hotel v dobré kvalitě. Určitě bychom se sem vrátili.

V koupelně smrděl odpad. Bylo zde málo ručníků.
