The Bell Inn

Lovely looking place, pretty pub and modern accommodation.

Lots of little things - the plug in the bath didn’t work (let water out), the room was very stuffy even with a fan, the toiletries are absolutely minimal so take your own, one plastic cup for water, there was no one there in the morning to check out, there was no breakfast on offer and the evening meals were expensive and really not worth the money.

Convenient location for us.

Unfortunately the pub itself was closed so no opportunity for a drink or food. We were warned that dinner would not be available but did not know until the morning of our stay that the pub would be closed. The only other pub with easy walking distance was also closed.

We thought the rooms were comfortable and clean, the shower was also good. The bedrooms were nice.

That we had chosen to stay in a pub to be able to have facilities close by, as this was a rural location. We asked upon check in about dinner, the chef was unwell which is understandable. We asked for some recommendations close by, we also asked if the pub would be open for drinks on our return and reassured that it would be. However we returned from dinner 1hour 30 later to a locked pub. If we had known this we would not have chosen this location.

Location to a local wedding event and Bury St Edmonds. Everything inside the property was generally clean and everything in its right place.

There was dog poop just outside our entrance door.
