No proper reception- they had no idea about the booking made via booking .com. Booked 9 rooms but got only 8. They had given out the other 😡. Extremely smelly rooms even with the A/C . The deluxe queen room the water comes out of the bathroom into the room. Some rooms the bathrooms were unclean .Bedsheets were dirty with handprints. Nothing what was told was there in the room not even a kettle. The place had only 2 plates to offer a group of 14. The garbage bins are kept in the so called lobby. No changing of towels etc. Better to take ones towel. The fridge was a disaster and was smelly😡 we stayed for 2 nights 3 days. It was a nightmare. never ever book this place.
LKGood sized rooms; our room was upgraded so we had direct use of the balcony which was great as the other rooms had no external windows. The bathrooms were a little smelly so make sure you close the door. Kettle, cups etc and wifi were all available on request. A handy supermarket next door and terrific bakery and eatery ‘Rice and Spice’ around the corner.
Staff can be hard to find (but accommodating)
ITThey accepted to refund back my second night when I left after the first. The morning staff was very kind and sorry.
Absolutely terrible staff when I arrived, as announced and accepted, at 23.00. Asked me to pay in advance to see the room. It was in disgusting hygienic conditions. I had to beg for a towel soap and toilet paper. In the end the guy gave me soap and a towel from a messy pile thrown on his desk and said that for the paper I had to wait the morning. The door didn't close properly. There were stains on the bed, bathroom door and furniture and mold on the floor. The wall of the bathroom was chipped. The sink dirty. I repeat tho, the staff in the morning was the kindest I have met in this trip. Absolutely sorry they have to work in this environment. Btw I also begged Booking.com assistence and after 3 days still no answer.
ITGreat position, close to the public transport (railway and bus stand are at a few minutes walking distance) and to Jaffna market. There is also a supermarket next door, open until 22.
AUStayed for a single night towards the end of June. Not sure if the primary owner was absent, but there was a young male staff member running the place, who se*ually assaulted me after showing me up to my room.. Steer clear, especially if you're a solo traveler
