Great location, loads of character and charm

The previous occupiers were delaying their departure but the team really worked hard to get us settled into the property as soon as possible and there was good communication about it.

The previous family were still there and to compensate we were offered a free drink in the companion hotel ... except the free drink part wasn't communicated to the staff so we had to pay. But the thought was there at least!

A lovely, very spacious property with plenty of local character (although the furniture has been rearranged since the Booking.com photos). Three large double/twin bedrooms, and a couple of living/seating areas, with well stocked bookshelves, and 3 TVs. A picturesque courtyard and a very large roof terrace with views of the city (not of a garden, as stated). The location is very quiet, but perfect for the short walks to the centre of the medieval town, to nearby restaurants, to the friendly Bazaar supermarket, or to the harbour. We enjoyed our stay there, but it was not wholly as advertised, The building is NOT detached, it is terraced. (But it is quiet.) And don’t be fooled by the list of facilities on the Booking.com website. A range of breakfast options is not provided every morning; we made our own. And room service - seriously?? And there is, of course, no ATM cash machine, no tour desk, no currency exchange, no bike hire, no yoga classes, no beauty services, no tennis court, blah blah etc. It’s an apartment, not a hotel. All inaccurate and misleading – the property descriptions need to be changed. Moreover (as below), communications with the owner/manager were shocking.

On arrival, we were dumped at 9pm in the middle of the old town by a taxi driver who could not find the property. I rang Stavros, but he did not pick up, so I left a voicemail message. He sent me a text with an internet link to a map of the apartment’s location and a note about where the key was hidden, but I could not access the link. I rang again, but he did not pick up, so I left a voice message to say that I could not open the map on my old Nokia phone, we needed HELP to find the apartment; I also texted him. His texted reply was: “I have sent you the instructions.” So I rang again, no answer; so I left a voicemail saying that I had explained to him that I could not read the instructions, please HELP. No reply. We were totally stranded, not knowing where we were or where the property was, and abandoned by the totally unhelpful Stavros. We were saved by two very kind ladies from the Bazaar supermarket. They walked us to the apartment a couple of streets away. Thank goodness for them. If the host can’t be bothered to meet us at the apt, arrival instructions should be provided before departure; and Stavros needs to take responsibility and answer his phone when clients are in distress. Once in, there were no free toiletries (or bathroom robes or slippers) provided, despite the Booking.com listing. There was only one bathroom, not the two advertised. Only one toilet roll was provided for two people for four nights. Only one key was provided. There were no instructions inside the apartment at all, including no wi-fi password. I texted Stavros about that, no reply. I then rang and left a voicemail message. Eventually he texted me just the password, no accompanying message, so discourteous. The wi-fi itself was unreliable. The washing machine was full of someone else’s washing. The large sun umbrella on the roof terrace would not open fully, making it impossible to sit up there during the day. Such a shame that a great property was sullied by such poor service.

Centrally located inside the walled city. It is a huge property spanning tree levels if you count the roof top. The Bedrooms are beautifully appointed reflecting the history of the house. For the kitchen and the bathroom they modernized them and brought them to modern standards and we really liked what they did. And this for animal lovers: They have a lovely cat residing (OUTSIDE) the property. He is very friendly.

Let themselves down with a number of minor irritants- wifi not working, only 3 cups for property sleeping 6, no information pack from host, some steps to terrace broken, etc I.eCould have been luxury but wasn't. Property advertised as 2 bathrooms but actually one nice bathroom and one outside toilet.
