S@fe Landing Lodge

It's good for one or two nights, the food was ok, you can eat there or at the near tea house, it's cheaper. You have all the facilities, but they're not very clean and I had a lot of ants in the dorm. It's very hot even with a fan. Not as expected, still passable.

Location is far from reefs so it's not good for snorkelling, the village is not accessible without a local and there's not that much to do

Safe Landing is owned and run by a friendly local family. My family (2ad, 2ch) had a good stay in a basic Bure. There’s some maintenance required, but keep in mind the location is very remote. The low price is appropriate. A small quiet resort, nice and close for a cave tour. A variety of activities run by friendly staff - snorkelling trip, village tour, weaving. Food was good. We felt very welcome. Thank you for having us!

Very friendly family, nice beach at the doorstep of our room, amazing views, sunset, sunrise. Food was all home cooked and requested diaries were respected and made, big portions. Very private and quiet, perfect for disconnecting from everything

Staff were friendly and helped with all our requests, but other than that there was minimal interaction from staff with the guests.

Beautiful location right on the beach - on the first day we had the beach to ourselves which was great. One of the volunteers (Sefo) really made our stay by teaching us about Fijian culture and also running a Kava ceremony, sharing fresh coconuts with us and arranging a bonfire on the beach.

Communications could be improved - both while there and via booking.com

All meals over the week we stayed were delicious, well presented and satisfying. Locally produced vegetables were incorporated into meals, as was freshly caught seafood. The location of our room was exceptional, within a few steps of the beach and the sea. There were plenty of opportunities to explore the beautiful coastline and country. Our hosts were genuinely helpful, generous, friendly and interested in us as visitors. Conversation flowed naturally and freely. Safe Landing offers an authentic experience for visitors as it sits between the resort world and village life. Free activities were offered such as a medicinal plants tour and Church service visit.

The proximity of the beach meant sand crept into our room during the day, a broom would have been helpful.

A simple paradise

The little houses on the beach are cozy and beautifully located. There is a fantastic 2hr hike with a trailhead nearby. Large/spacious beach and stunning water, amazing sunset views, & access to an abundance of coconuts! Love the hammocks around the property and there is a nice setup for socializing with other travelers if desired.

The excursions/adventures here are more expensive compared to other accommodations I stayed at. Some of the snorkeling gear for hire is old and broken, so if you do a snorkeling trip and use their gear, I recommend being one of the first people to choose your set. The meals are not too exciting, was expecting more Fijian dishes, with local veggies and seafood. The breakfast buffet is not actually a buffet, it was just pieces of bread and some pancakes on a plate to be split between all of us staying there, and it was a limited amount. Fortunately the meal plans were not compulsory like at some other accommodations. Very basic facilities, power use is only at night and there is no wifi.

We loved the location, the activities next to the reef were awesome! Sephor, one of the workers there was really nice with all of us showing us the cava ceremony, some fijian songs, how to open coconuts and make coconut smoothie!

What I didn’t like was our room. All the other rooms were nice and meeting anyones expectations. But ours, it wasn’t very cleaned, the bathroom was really poor, and one window didn’t have mosquito net so at night was mosquito party :(
