This was a great location for exploring south Harris. The beaches of Luskentyre and Seilebost are easily accessible by car. The B & B itself has beautiful views over Loch Ceann Dibig. Our room had a patio overlooking the loch... a fabulous place to sit and enjoy an Isle of Harris Gin or a wee whisky. Excellent and novel breakfast full of locally sourced ingredients.

A comfortable, nicely decorated and welcoming accommodation with attention to details in a contemporary style. The room had lots of storage space, a separate desk and very comfortable beds. The bathroom has a clever layout and a very effective lighting. Water supply was great (i.e. hot water at any time with good pressure), water very good and perfectly fine for drinking. John is a great host, a warm welcome and an open ear are guaranteed - thank you for your great hospitality. The location of the house is just perfect, quiet with a great view onto lakes and very conveniently located close to the ferry terminal just a few minutes down the road.

Nothing actually, only very minor things we perhaps would have set up differently - but that’s of course very subjective from a pure personal perspective.

We loved our stay at Dunarain B&B! Our host, John, met us as we pulled up, and was absolutely wonderful throughout our stay. He brought us to our lovely and comfortable room, where he provided some snacks and a wee drink to welcome us. We ordered our breakfast the night before, and it was fabulous! Either made by John or brought from local providers. I wish I had an extra stomach. John offered information about the island, and clearly cared deeply about the bed and breakfast he had started with his wife, and about the experience of his guests. Beds and linens were extremely comfortable, and after our days hiking and exploring it was wonderful to return to this gem for a good night's rest. We would have stayed longer, but there were no rooms left. In terms of location, Tarbert is a great little town, very convenient for when we arrived on the ferry - we didn't have to drive far - and perfectly situated as a base to explore both Lewis and Harris.

Dislikes often result from a mismatch between expectations and reality. I expected a basic bed and breakfast with a decent bed, a decent breakfast, and a nice host. Dunarain far exceeded my expectations and truly I didn't not like anything (double negative = I loved everything). The weather could have been a bit nicer, but we didn't expect it to be and were not disappointed :)

Very nice owner! He is a good cook and very friendly. Loved also the fresh orange juice (io bought). Lovely location. Very nice room, we had the twin room. Quiet, you could not hear the next door. Very nice bathroom, good shower.
