Eco Hotel Cueva del Gato

The setting is beautiful, the back deck is lovely for an evening drink, the river and the lagoon behind the property is beautiful, and the pool terrific. We loved how isolated it is and yet how close to Ronda at only 15 mins by car.

We didn't dine at the property as there was only a set menu offered and you had to let them know in advance. There was a real sense of pared down staff and a multitude of text messages regarding dining, menu and doing an automatic check in. It was borderline annoying. The setting for the dining area is gorgeous but I got the feeling that it is only used for special events, which is a shame.

Views over the mountains were wonderful, the bed was comfortable, the outdoor lounge area was beautiful and the service was very kind.

There was a large group celebrating with a dinner function during our stay - they were very noisy and I don’t think this kind of event is compatible with the small, quiet retreat that the property offers. We found it very intrusive and were disappointed with that aspect.

Great staff and pool

Superior room wasn’t a suite, as was billed. Train line was noisy during the night. Dinner was overpriced and not very good.

Stunning location, next to the Cueva del Gato and nestled overlooking the hills. Perfectly located for hiking, exploring the Pueblos Blancos or just relaxing by the pool. Staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Really appreciated the wine in our room and local produce at breakfast.

A mirror in the bedroom would be a useful addition.

Nice setting close to the famous Cueva del Gato. Fabulous breakfast.

Toilets were unreliable, local restaurants too far to walk to. The surrounding area looks like a building site and needs to mature.
