Lakeview cottage - Upper Hulme

The cottage vibe and the views were amazing. So serene with only cows as your next door neighbors. The kitchen was well equipped to cook for two and plenty of space.

Even though instructions on how to reach the property were previously shared with a location link, getting there was not straight forward. The location link was disabled probably by Booking app or maybe the host did not copy it correctly. I’ve informed the host but they insisted that it was already shared and did not share it again. We wasted almost an hour of our time trying to reach the place. The water in the bath was not working well. We could not shower properly as the water was either scorching hot or cold. I’m sure the cottage could have been cleaned more thoroughly as there was a lot of dust and we had an unpleasant allergic reaction from that.

Both interior and exterior were amazing. We loved the views and location. Liked that it was peaceful and we could just relax and take in the wonderful vista in front of us. Great food in Rock pub and loved the reservoir just 10 minutes away. The food and staff were great and again wonderful scenery.

The location was stunning. Views of the nearby Roaches and of the green wooded hills to the lake and beyond were spectacular. Birdsong day and night and no traffic noise. The cottage was lovely with period features such as old cupboards in the walls and gorgeous old beams. Comfortable living room and beds.

Kitchen was not practical for cooking for 4 for a week- cramped with only 2 rings on the hob. Cracks and chips in crockery and minimal cutlery. One chair in kitchen falling apart and outside seating needing some attention- wobbly and broken bits. The plumbing was very hard to negotiate- water to bath varied in pressure and hot water absolutely scalding. Shower not usable due to being either cold or boiling- water did not mix. A booklet explaining how to use the bathroom effectively (if there was a way!) would have been very helpful. When I asked for assistance by text I had no answer for the whole week.
