Cottage is in excellent condition and very clean, very easy to get to and perfect to explore the area around

Could be better if had another shower room

Ideal for a base wish we had more time .

Everything was amazing thanks

I am 4 1/2 months pregnant & started traveling early & with a 4pm check in , I was worried I would be tired so asked for an early check in and the owner allowed is access from the morning which I thought was extremely kind and thoughtful. The cleanliness of the place, the beds are so comfy , I had the best night sleep. Little touches around the place . I brought a box of condiments but everything was stocked. There was eggs and jams in the fridge. Such a beautiful location and near a stunning mansion and grounds. I would definitely be back!

I am not the kind of person that gives 5 stars out. However staying at Mikes Cottage fully deserves this. Gunta and Mike are the perfect hosts. The location is amazing, awesome views, incredibly quiet and peaceful. On the flip side of that you are not far from the A9, supermarkets and fantastic walks. It makes the perfect base camp for a holiday and I will be doing that at some point with my wife for sure. I actually stayed here while working at the Port of Nigg. Around 30 Minutes maximum drive. And gives you a home from home with great wifi signal. Laundry facilities and a polity to book for yourself is great. Thanks again to Gunta and Mike for checking in on me by WhatsApp and being so genuine. David

Can’t fault anything

The living room was a good size .. The bathtub was great for soaking. The main bedroom was downstairs and close to the bathroom. They brought another toaster as the previous renters noted the toaster was broken The separate dining area was really good because it was in an addition that was probably the porch in the past. The area was quiet and located in what appeared to be a village of several cottages.

The views described were misleading as the yard was enclosed by a slatted brown wood fence at least 7 feet high. Views were from the bedrooms upstairs. We kept tripping over the metal in the floors between rooms , especially going to the dining area from the main house. The step down from the one side of the kitchen was also tricky and unexpected. The floors in the downstairs room were uneven and should have smooth thresholds between the rooms in the doorways. The cottages were very close to each other and clustered. The refrigerator was separate from the freezer and on opposite sides of the kitchen.

Needed a break away from the city and busy work life I have. Enjoyed the country! Beautiful scenery plenty of walks and beautiful clean cosy cottage. Even left fresh home made marmalade in the fridge. Quiet area never saw anyone. Felt like home was very homely! 5 star from me!
