Although we didn’t have it the diner smelled amazing, the shower had good water pressure and the stay was a lovely unique place, beds were comfortable

To make the room more comfortable feeling I would recommend having warm lighting rather than a bright white bulb overhead and would be helpful if they accepted card payments

Big room, clean, hot water

Bathroom is separate 30m away, the personnel not very customer oriented, no lock on door, you can hear everything from other rooms and dining space, poor wifi and only working next to the kitchen, not so quiet location (depends a lot on the other guests, but also you can hear dogs barking all the night, and the road cars), smell of food from kitchen and dining goes into the rooms, expensive dinner (15 EUR vs 5 EUR in the center of Matmata) In a country where bread is 3 euro cents, asking for 100 EUR for a room per night just because it’s a troglodite setup it’s just pure greed.

Exceptional, unique place to stay. Absolutely superb dinner.

The location is nice if you want to be away from all the noise and light pollution. The place is well-maintained. They serve traditional home-made food and it was excellent. The staff were also very nice. Being new in this corner of the world, I felt very safe in this place.

This is on the expensive side compared to what you get. I initially enjoyed my stay, but the experience left a bitter impression during checkout. At check-in, it was not clearly explained that payment had to be made in cash and that dinner cost €15. As a student, this was steep. It is 3x my usual budget for a meal. Habib was kind and welcoming but the lack of transparency regarding the pricing made me feel scammed. He can argue that it was mentioned on the website that dinner was not included and that payment is by cash. But there is a check-in process to clearly communicate these details. I arrived 8pm and he just told me what time I want dinner to be. That gave me an impression that dinner was included. If he would have just reminded me about the policies then I would not feel misled. In my other accommodations, policies were clearly explained right away which really avoided confusion.

La tipicità della struttura è l’architettura del post che rende il soggiorno estremamente particolare ed immersivo nella cultura del luogo. Ciascuna stanza è dotata di bagno privato, ma esterno alla camera; in ogni caso, comodo e dotato di tutto il necessario. La struttura offre anche la cena dietro apposito pagamento: cena molto buona, abbondante e con piatti tipici. Se non gradite il piccante, informatevi prima sul tipo di cena. Il personale è stato estremamente gentile e cordiale.

Nulla è andato storto.

Tolle traditionelle Unterkunft mit sehr freundlichen Gastgebern. Alles sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Bad sehr sauber. Das Abendessen war ein echtes Highlight- unbedingt dazu buchen.
