JAKES ON THE BEACH

The property had a great relaxed and friendly feel to it. The rooms are well planned out for maximum space, the breakfasts were delicious and generous, and the pool and ocean proximity were great.

No heated showers, but with the weather this was not a problem.

He was my partner in crime! Amazing person! I asked my girlfriend to be my wife. Darren and Jake were the most amazing partners on this very very special day for me and my (now) fiancee.

Amazing staff and place! 100% recommended.

Great service and the only pet friendly place around Las Peñitas, plus, Jake's a very good boy. A wonderful place to spend time with the family.

The location was great! Right there with great access to the beach. The vibe is more relaxed. We had the place to ourselves, which was nice. The pool was refreshing and was kept clean. The rooms were clean.

It was under construction, which we were not made aware of prior to our visit. We were told when we arrived that there was some minor construction and that we would not hear much noise, although there was lots of noise during the day and before 8am. However, it didn't limit our use of the facilities. There was no hot water, which was a huge bummer. Booking.com did not inform us that there was no hot water, and when I asked the owner... his response was that "it's common, and most find it refreshing" assuming I should just deal with it. Was no apology for the misunderstanding or miscommunication. There's no housekeeping and the beds are very hard. Also, they only accepted cash. Booking.com stores my CC info and I was under the impression that I was paying through that platform. I was sent a message saying most places only accept cash and to use ATM's in Leon, but it was never direct or clear that "Jake's on the Beach" only accepted cash. It was general, and almost like a suggestion for me to have cash but not a requirement. One of the owner's, Rod, was our host. He was nice, friendly, and hospitable. The only concern I had was that he smoked often, and would leave cigarettes buds around, which we did not find professional. The incident that alarmed me was the last night. It was later around 10:30pm, and my wife and I were having a serious conversation sitting by the beach, when he came and sat right behind me smoking and drinking a bottle of beer. We do not smoke, and it bothers our lungs. He just said "disculpa me" and sat down. I think he was intoxicated, maybe, and just too relaxed around us. It wasn't professional. After taking a walk on the beach, we returned around 11pm and found that he had left his beer bottle in the sand and all lights out.

We loved the hospitality, the treatment, the breakfast, and the immediate consideration for our wellbeing. Darren was a great host.

We had a small invader in our roof (a kind of iguana) and we had to change rooms, but of course, this wasn't under management's control and they handled it very quickly.
